I haven't watched most of season four yet but, hopefully tomorrow during the marathon I'll catch at least a big chunk of them and finish up by the weekend. Have the DVR set to record them all.

I'm almost finished watching the first season on Fox's mynetwork which is a local ota channel. Love the show! Hope it helps more people discover the show. Glad it got renewed for season 5 and 6. Hopefully, I'll have cable by then.

Nice, glad your discovering the show for the 1st time. It's actually one of USA's highest rated shows, so it's not going anywhere, plus the DVD's are all out as well.

I started getting a bit bored with the show last season but after suffering through the dreck that passes for television entertainment these days I can't wait to have it back on the air. Even subpar Burn Notice is better than most of what's out there right now.

Really? I thought Jessie shook up the formula just enough to prevent the show from becoming too rote. I'm looking forward to the rest of this season.

Solid episode and a great start to the rest of the season. Michael was pretty creepy playing the obsessed wannabe serial killer. I'm glad that Jesse's sticking around, but I hope he warms back up to the group sooner rather than later.
Why was everyone freaking out when Jesse detonated the bomb though? I mean, if he didn't blow it up it's more likely that the guy would've waited until the cops tried to enter or something. There was no way that guy was going to be taken alive, so why not just get it over with before things got out of hand? Struck me as odd.
Liked Madeline giving Michael sunglasses at the end.
I agree. Introducing Jesse breathed new life into the show. It was nice to have someone new in the group challenging them and the way they do things.

Great episode. The season starts out with a bang!
Because Michael, Fi and Sam don't go around killing people. They defer to law enforcement when possible. Remember when Fi got kidnapped? Instead of killing the guys, they set it up so the police would get them.

It just struck me as odd because clearly this guy was insane, he had already set a bomb off and had several others waiting to go off. He was trapped inside the house and wasn't going to leave without blowing it up. Jesse blowing it up just ensured that no one else would get hurt except for the psycho. Like I said before, if they had deferred to local law enforcement you can bet at least one innocent person would have been killed.

It also showed that as much as the group really want Jesse to trust them again... he's still unpredictable, no matter how much trust they have in him.

the first half of the episode was sort of a snoozer, but it picked up significantly in the second half. i like now that jesse is sort of a rogue guy on the fringe.

Re: Burn Notice -- Winter Premiere -- "Eyes Open" -- 11/11/10
I think Jesse did what he did for several reasons:
1) He acts more rashly than Michael (and this was a nice way for the writers to reinforce that).
2) Blowing up Fiona's house had to be gratifying.
3) The guy wasn't going to stop until he was killed. I don't know that I buy the idea that an innocent would have died if the police went in (the police aren't idiots), but we know how the last trial apparently went. It's uncertain whether Jesse knew that, but he may have just felt it wasn't worth all those combined risks.
Jesse is a good addition, but the show started showing its age in the summer. It probably would have been worse if not for Jesse. This episode wasn't bad, and I hope the winter goes well.

Im glad Jesse killed the dude I had wondered why no one had killed anyone yet.
Either way the show has been lame the past few seasons.

Yes, they have killed. The body count is surprisingly low for the type of show this is, though.

Life imitating art. So this is what they do with an explosive-laden house.
