Das Boot & Stalingrad come to mind, both were German films of course. Any others?

In particular I was wondering if there were any about D-Day & the Normandy beaches from the defender's point of view but I'd be interested in others too.

Europa, Europa is a strange case -- it's told from the POV of a Jewish boy who is able to pass himself off as an Aryan, to the point that his Hitler Youth leader points him out as an example of what a true German should look like.

Ditto on these, although EYE OF THE NEEDLE is a special case, given that it's a spy movie and not a combat movie. THE LONGEST DAY crosscuts between American, English, French, and German POV's.

I would add THE ENEMY BELOW, a submarine picture that crosscuts between the Nazi sub underwater, under the command of Curt Jurgens, and the U.S. ship above pursuing it, with Robert Mitchum as the Captain. We get both sides equally, as I recall.

They even made some films with enemy protagonists during the war:
THE INVADERS (aka 49TH PARALLEL, 1941), from the UK, shows a stranded Nazi U-boat crew making their way across Canada to the "safety" of the still-neutral USA!
FIVE GRAVES TO CAIRO (1943) is set in a hotel in Egypt serving as Rommel's headquarters. An English officer is working undercover there. We get to see and hear a lot from Rommel in it. He's played by Erich von Stroheim as quite a witty and engaging character. And we were fighting the guy at the time!

Yeah seriously, 'Triumph of the Will' by Leni Riefenstahl. That is clearly Nazi POV. Not quite a WW2 movie but one of the most well known to show their feeling.

Yeah, I got that, but 'TOTW' isn't entirely political either. It gives their ideals of themselves and although total propaganda is actually well made.

Certainly worth seeing as it was made by Nazi's for Nazi's. *Yes I think LR was a Nazi no matter what she claimed.
