Synopsis:

Spoiler:
Dexter must deal with his unwanted conspirator while wondering if Rita's death and Harrison's exposure to it may have had a subconscious impact on the infant. Meanwhile, Quinn's suspension leaves Deb to work the Santa Muerte homicides alone, but frees him up to look further into Dexter's background and possible involvement in the Trinity Killer case.

Probably the best episode this season thus far in my opinion. Next week looks like its going to be crazily intense!

It's funny cause I spotted Peter Weller in motel scene with Laguerta but then I didn't think they would bring him in just for that scene and voila there he is in a totally cliched villain scene with Quinn.

Pretty solid episode.

eh

I'm not on board with next weeks storyline. Seems re-hashed again for Dexter. Especially if

Spoiler:
Dexter is on scene, again, when the cops show up.

The other baby crying and pointing at Harrison was hilarious.

Another actor better than "Astor".

I thought it was one of the worst episodes of the series.

- The An-hel/LaGuerta storyline is horrible and took way too much of the episode
- Dexter drugging Brunner in the middle of a sex offender colony and somehow dragging the body out unnoticed
- Dexter and Lumen talking loudly in public about murdering people
- Dexter telling Lumen his real name
- Everything else about the Lumen storyline

The only problem I have with the Lumen storyline is the fact her name is Lumen, like writing with a damn sledgehammer.

To be fair, after two seasons of this they've finally found a way to tie it back to the main story.

This part bugged me. I turned to my wife and said "They need a code word or a more private place to talk."

Re: Dexter -- "First Blood" -- 10/24/10

Am I the only one who finds letting a big rainbow sheet fall on top of a bunch of babies somewhat cruel? Maybe if they were a bit older it wouldn't be a big deal, but at their current age how could it not feel like they were being trapped in some way? It's been a long time since I was Harrison's age, so perhaps I don't know what I'm talking about.

Oh, and to the writers:

You SERIOUSLY have to eighty-six the Angel and LaGuerta crap. Stop trying to make it more interesting with the sting stuff - you've already blown it. Just drop it and move along. You do a measly 12 episodes a year; filler shouldn't even enter the equation, at least in these quantities.

I'll say it again, the phones in the Dexter universe must be the simplest things on the planet. And LaGuerta actually uses it as a planner/calendar?

In addition, Dexter has the Fingerprint database software on his home computer...a little convenient, though he's had it since the beginning.

And yeah, the fact that her name is Lumen....way too obvious.

... except for earlier this season, where Dexter had to sneak something into evidence in order to get someone else to analyze the fingerprint on it for him.

The episode was okay. The funniest part was when Debbie turned to Vince in the tattoo parlor and said "She likes needles; show her your dick." The look on his face was priceless. LOL

Yeah this part sort of bugged me too I wish they had shown how he got out of there with him, but whatever its a show after all not everything can be realistic.

- Dexter and Lumen talking loudly in public about murdering people
I agree on this too but its not the first time its happened. Happened a couple times in season 3 with Miguel as well. I think the reason they do it like this though is from the Lumen characters perspective she probably would want to meet in a public place yet they probably want to keep the sound loud enough so the audience can hear it clearly. I'm guessing its not intended to be like they are just casually talking about it in public but more done for our sake of hearing the conversation.

I remember at that age, the horror of my mom being able to disappear just by moving her hands, and then by moving them again, there she was!

Needless to say, I now have deep relationship issues.

Regarding Dexter's database searches, wouldn't there be a record of all his searches tied directly to his name that could be viewed by his bosses if someone was so inclined?

I agree it was a slow episode but I'm liking the Lumen stuff and the tension with Quinn.

Solid episode, one of the best of the season. Although I was hoping Lumen would leave, her character bugs me.
