Great price, great set. Wonder if they're trying to unload it now that Criterion has a release of Stagecoach.

This collection doesn't come with Stagecoach so there's no double dip if you have the Criterion.

I paid $26 for mine last year and it was the older set with (The Searchers Ultimate Edition / Stagecoach Two-Disc SE / The Long Voyage Home), looks like the new one has The Searchers SE but drops the other 2.

^Same here but mine was a lightning deal for $25. IMHO the old one is the better set of the two for the inclusion of "Stagecoach" 2D-SE and "The Long Voyage Home", but this is still a good deal/value.

Familyvideo.com had this as their steal of the day last may and with a free shpping promotion it was 16.99 when I got it. They did add a cool documentary disk to this otherwise inferior to the first set.

Hell, I think I paid $8 just to get the documentary disc from this. Great deal if you don't already have this stuff in your library.

I bought the set from Amazon last year on sale. Mine has "STAGECOACH" and "THE LONG VOYAGE HOME" instead of the John Ford documentary, and "THE SEARCHERS" & "STAGECOACH" are 2-disc editions. Looks like the new sets have less without these others!

Going back a couple years here are my price notes: $28 Costco (Aug 08), $32 AMZN (May 09), $23.92 DD (Jul 09), $25 AMZN (Dec 09), $22.39 DD (May 10), $17 FV (May 10), $18 Costco (Sep 10). I expect people can figure out AMZN = Amzon, DD = Deep Discount, FV is Family Video.

So, as others have mentioned, it has been cheaper than $23.99 before (several times in fact). I haven't bought this set because I only really like The Searchers and 3 Godfathers which I already own. The others are all OK (because I'm a John Wayne fan) but some of them are just so slow. I didn't know that they had multiple versions of this box set adding/removing discs and such. Another reason to avoid it until it's super dirt cheap
