Puppet Master Collection - All 9 'canon' movies 11/9/10
I don't believe this has been brought up before. Flat Iron Film via New Video Group is releasing the 9 'canon' Puppet Master films (in other words, not including Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys) in a 9-disc set. The retail price is 59.95 and Amazon currently has it for 36.99. It comes in three normal-size cases in a box. This seems especially odd since, in addition to Full Moon's own releases of the films, Echo Bridge just released the first three both individually and as a triple feature.
I had the box from Full Moon (bought it for $100 when I fell for their 'only found a few!' line) but sold it once the Blu-ray edition of the first one came out (which I did not get yet). Seeing as how I'm going to want the first and last ones in Blu, and I already own The Legacy, I'm undecided if I will get this (seems like a pretty good price, and is only three cases deep) or if I will buy 2-7 individually.

Looks like I might need to return that unopened triple feature disc from Wal-mart since I have a feeling these movies are about to become dirt cheap.

I bought the triple feature set at Walmart for $5 and I haven't opened mine yet either. And now I don't know if I should. It would be very nice if they released them all separately or in more triple features.

would be nice, but the 9 pack is being released by a different company than the one that released the 3 pack

If you're interested in getting the uncut version of the first film, http://www.amazon.com/Puppet-Master-...7799356&sr=1-1
As far as I know, that's the only one that's uncut. It added enough gore for me to notice and I hadn't seen it in years.

It looks like most of the Full Moon line will be released that day. Too bad this wasn't released in time for the challenge. They would of increased my total score tremendously.

Also how is the transfer on that version? I know for a while before Full Moon re-released Puppet Master recently, the Razor Digital release was the only other Widescreen release on DVD.

Didn't even know the Full Moon Release was cut. Just kind of assumed all the kills were off screen in the first film.

Don't bother buying any gear to watch it the 3D version if you don't already have it, it looks about the same as watching a non-3D movie with the glasses.

Does anyone know if the latest Blu-ray/DVD release of the film from Full Moon is uncut?

Audio is out of sync and the "fixed" copies now freeze every couple seconds.

Re: Puppet Master Collection - All 9 'canon' movies 11/9/10
Watched PM1... anamorphic, image is a little soft with some artifacting, nobody would mistake it for blu-ray, but definitely a cut above public domain level releases (like Echo Bridge). I assume this is the same transfer as the SE, but don't know for sure since I've never seen that one. It doesn't look like a remaster or anything like that, but very watchable on my 42 inch display.
Also briefly checked out PM2, which is FF and looks much softer. I believe all of the sequels were direct-to-video, so no surprise there. But it looks like some of the more recent films are also anamorphic here, too, as I also popped in PM: Axis of Evil briefly to see.
In fact, I assume all of these are the same transfers as earlier Full Moon releases, since the splash screens, menus and extras all extensively reference Full Moon.
So nothing here looks like a new transfer or anything like that, but these are probably generally better than the Echo Bridge release, if that is stretched as some have reported. I think this is a good deal - relatively good presentations of all 9 movies, for the 36 bucks I paid on Amazon.
