Friday Night Lights Reruns Canceled on ABCFamily Due to Low Ratings
This must be the best show ever that just can't get anyone to watch it--even after years of buzz and NBC/DirecTV giving it a second chance. Where is the audience?!

“As of today, Monday, Oct. 18, FNL is no longer on ABC Family’s schedule,” says a network spokesperson. “It wasn’t performing from a ratings standpoint. We moved it around the schedule, but unfortunately it wasn’t holding up.”

I love the show and I'm looking forward to season 5 in a few weeks. But, honestly if you think about it, If you care at all about the show at all, you will have already watched it on NBC, Directv or even rented/purchased the DVD's. The DVD's are really affordable at under $20 most of the time.
Plus, if you have never seen the show, your not going to really want to watch it on any random day if you happen to flip to ABC Family considering it's pretty serialized.

Serial shows don't do well in syndication. It wasn't on in prime time. It was on a weak channel. It's on every day so it very possible to miss an episode.
Too many strikes against this working. What was ABC Family thinking?

If the repeats aired once a week, then maybe they would have done better. ^^ But, you covered pretty much the reasons why it tanked.
Plus, I believe ABC Family's prime demographic is young girls and FNL doesn't fit that at all. Hell, their highest rated show is Pretty Little Liars and that Secret Life of an American Teenager, which are about young teenage girls.

They put it on at 6pm and in 5 minutes decided to move it to 11am and in 2 min, they canceled it.
