Really dug this episode for the most part. The angel civil war certainly seems more interesting than is-it-really-Sam or the (mercifuly absent from this episode) extended family tree.

I'm torn about this episode... good to see Cas again, and this episode had the same feel to it as last season, but then again, the story arc this season seems to be a rehashing the whole apocalypse/angel war again... been there, done that.

I really hope this isn't going to be another season of one brother doubting the other's "condition" and the resulting trust-related issues. For once, can't they just be honest with each other and fight monsters? The drama can come from elsewhere.

This episode did feel like more of a return to form, but I agree with the notion that the angel war stuff feels a little rehashy. Still, I'm game. Supernatural has probably already peaked with the excellent last season, but I'm cool with just getting a solid epilogy season.

I agree it has a bit of a "been there done that" feel, but I thought this episode was MUCH better than the last 2 weeks and finally made me glad that the show came back for a 6th season. I was starting to think bringing it back was a big mistake, but now I'm back in.

Just last week I said to my roommate "This show needs an episode written by Ben Edlund STAT!" Looks like I got my wish.
I liked it, but this really does feel like a postscript to last season. The episode did have some nice touches, such as how they got rid of Sam's car and a few throwaway lines. It was certainly a cut above the last two weeks, but I have a feeling this season will ultimately be the weakest since season one.

Well Kripke had said that another season would most likely result in the Winchester Bros. having to clean up some remaining monsters and post-Apocalypse fallout. He also mentioned the posibility of an arc featuring the remaining gods of other pantheons coming to kick ass cos they're pissed the angels/demons had the balls to start the end of the world without their consent.
Of course, it was never to be Kripke's call and he was only spitballing. Still, it seems they''re using his fallout idea (though none too effectively). Hopefully the season will pick up and we'll get the other pantheons angle and have Cas be the only angel in town.

I agree with pretty much everything that has been said. Much better than the first couple of episodes.

It did feel a little rehashy to me, so I hope this isn't where the whole season is headed. It WAS nice having Cass back, though. I liked Dean's prayer and the demise of Sam's car. Still enjoying the season so far.

Anyone know who played the Sam's hooker? She wasn't listed in the opening credits, and IMDB didn't list her (yet?).

Yeah, what's up with Sam being a dick? Though I didn't think it was a big deal that the kid had to endure some pain in order to get the information. Guess I've watched too much 24...

That kid killed three people. Yeah they deserved it, but it doesn't change the fact the kid's a killer. I don't think Sam and Cas were being dick's as much as Dean was showing his changes post family life.
Oh, one dickish thing was Cas not bothering to heal Dean's hand after bleeding it.
