I'd rather get full seasons, instead of just 13 episodes....that always seems like a letdown instead of 26.

13 episodes is the full season that just aired.
That's some cool cover-art too. I don't ever wear "nerdy" clothes, but I would totally wear a T-shirt with that art on it.

Awesome news. I'm glad they decided to keep with the Volume Sets than Seasons, if only because it would've annoyed me to have Volumes 1-4 and then Season 6. I really wish though that they had released a set that had all four movies as Volume 5 and then this as Volume 6, but whatever.

Argh. Should've been obvious, but I didn't think about it -- Season 5 comes in the same kind of dreaded, easily crushable, no-plastic-involved eco packaging that the movies came in. The 24-hour Wal-Mart I ran into to buy it at only had the DVD, so I went with that, so no word if the Blu-Ray comes in the same awful packaging.

I left a comment on the Fox Connect Facebook page about the cheap packaging. AS I unwrapped my blu-ray copy I had the second disc slide right out and fall to the ground. Between Avatar SE, BTTF and this I am soooooo fucking sick of crappy packaging this month.

HORRIBLE packaging.
They NEED to get off this environmental bullshit and store the disk in a normal way, not just slapped inbetween two pieces of flimsey cardboard where it can easily fall out.
I'm all for recycling and all that, but recycling is for TRASH and Futurama is NOT TRASH!

They can claim environmental reasons all they want, but you know studios do this sort of thing because it saves them money and keeps the environmentalists off their back.

Actually, this sort of custom packaging costs them more to produce than putting the discs into already mass-produced blu-ray cases.

Are the discs just in little half-slits in other people's sets, or is there a full circular cardboard flap holding it in? Someone in the Blu-Ray forum alluded to their disc "falling right out", which seems impossible with these nearly disc-sized cardboard circles in front of them.

Yeah. Even if it doesn't use plastic, they've still gotta be custom made, and can't be used for anything else.

I don't care for it, but it would be another way to prevent floaters.

If anything it MAKES them more money, because once the disks become scratched because of the poor packaging, you have to buy them again!

Best Buy actually has a minor exclusive for this release. It includes a "Bonus Gift Wrapping Paper Sleeve," which basically folds around the DVD as a sort of wrapping paper. It has some cool designs and snowflakes in the same color scheme of the DVD set; there's also a small Planet Express Ship on it as well.
