'Close Encounters' glich on theatrical cut (!!)
okay I'm really annoyed, there seems to be a glitch during the theatrical cut where the film jumps at time 24:45, I had to buy a second disc because I no longer had the original receipt for the first disc ... well, both the first disc and the second disc I bought have the same problem - if I send back the disc to Amazon how certain am I to assume the third time wont have the same problem - this is frustrating to say the least.

When you say "theatrical cut" do you mean "original version"? The Special Edition was also released in theaters.

a brand spankin' new LG BD590 - is it the seamless integration that might be messing up the player?? I don't understand how it can be messing up on both copies at the precise same point of the disc.
and yes I'm pertaining this problem to the original first cut theatrical version, not the special edition version.

I have had the bluray of this since day one and have never had this issue.
perhaps its your player if its been on more than one disc.
cause if this was a wide spread disc issue it would have been brought up by many others in the almost 3 years the movie has been on bluray.

I'm thinking this is a indeed a player problem. Can seamless branching create this problem I'm having?? (if that's the case, I'm not looking forward to seeing how my LG will act up for the 'Beauty and the Beast' 3 version bluray)
Gizmo - did you happen to check out the problem as well?

Yep, same deal. Skipped to 25:30. Skips again about a minute in to 30:05.
My copy is the original pressing from 2007.
This is the first skip I've seen on my BD590 (aside from The Ghost Writer combo...you have that?). I'll send an e-mail to LG but I doubt this will get fixed unless something they tweak in the next firmware update happens to fix it.
