Blu-ray and DVD details for Inception, plus chance to quiz VFX supervisor
By David Bentley on Sep 3, 10 01:02 PM

TODAY we've been sent exciting details of the Blu-ray and DVD release for Christopher Nolan's Inception, which will include an uber-cool, briefcase-styled collector's set.

There's also a chance for you to talk to the film's visual effects supervisor at an event in London.

Warner Home Video UK will release a limited edition Blu-ray briefcase plus triple play and DVD releases of the mind-bending blockbuster on December 6, 2010. Click on the image above for a larger version.

Customers can opt for the Inception briefcase from today when pre-ordering the film from online retailers including Play, Amazon and HMV.

The limited edition briefcase will also be available in store from December 6 and contains a triple play pack, spinning top, theatrical dream machine leaflet and four art cards. It is available for £39.99

The triple play pack includes the feature film on Blu-ray and DVD discs, a digital copy and a disc of special features. Inception will also be available on digital platforms from December 6.

In addition, the movie's visual effects supervisor Paul Franklin will host a Q&A at the Apple Store, Regent Street, London, on September 8 at 7pm, where you can join him as he discusses the mind-blowing sequences in the film.

Paul is a co-founder of London-based Double Negative VFX, and has also designed sequences for movies including Batman Begins, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and The Dark Knight, gathering nominations for an Oscar and two Baftas along the way.

Complete waste of time for this movie to have such cool looking dvd set. Blade Runner had one, but it was a cool, classic movie.

If you didn't like the movie, why waste your time commenting in a thread about the DVD release? Take it to one of the review threads.

Better yet if you don't like the packaging just don't buy it. I think it's cool and if it's not outrageously priced I would like to buy this.

Looks fine to me. An essential purchase.

I still don't get the people that openly dislike this movie. I get that a lot are trying to be hip and think they are cool by trying to be different. But you know what.....dislike a movie that is generally popular but is actually utter trash. This is a movie well made, well acted and well written and is something original. ANd hence the reason that its number 4 on IMDB's top 250 movies list.

While I agree with your argument, I am awarding zero points because you referenced IMDb's Top 250 list.

Re: Inception DVD and BD

Can't wait; so far, my favorite movie of this year (but that could change with The Social Network or Black Swan). Hope the set (if we get the PASIV-modeled set) goes all out.

I'd buy this. Already bought an original poster for it to hang too. Great movie.

Late November is the date I heard. But it'll get announced in a week or two officially.
