For some reason my Direct TV DVR didn't record even though I have it set to record new episodes. Just a heads up that people might want to double check that it's set to record.

I loved Don's "That's right, I'm the client" line, putting him on the other side of a conversation he's had so many times.

"He does'nt own your vagina"
"No but he rents it"
The growth of Peggy...she would have melted at that line 2 years ago.
PLUS...I walk by the Time Warner building to work and they have a display in the window of ANdy Warhol's work illustrating BAZAAR magazine from 1959-1964 so the artists comment about working for advertising was illuminating.

Am I the only one surprised to learn that John Slattery is only 48? I thought he was in his mid-50's, close to my dad's age.
More and more you can see the transformation of society from when the show began in 1960 to where it will end up (my guess being a New Year's Eve party on 12/31/1969). The bohemians throwing a party in an abandoned warehouse to the streets being dirtier and foul language more pervasive. Throw in the nudity of the photos, which prompted a viewer discretion advised warning before the show. I don't think I've seen that before.
I missed the last 1/2 of last week's episode due to a DVR malfunction,so I wasn't sure if Anna was still alive; I'm glad to see that she is.
The scene with Pete and Peggy looking at each other through the glass showed that while they may have a connection, they are going in opposite directions. Peggy is embracing the coming counter-culture revolution while Pete is content to be part of the old guard.

I laughed when Sterling was on the phone with Lee and suggested using horse racing as a sport for ads. Then he paused a minute and said something like "No, Lee, it would be the jockeys who'd smoke the cigarettes."

That was a great throwaway line. It took me a few seconds to get it and start laughing. I was still laughing about it a few minutes later when I fast forwarded through the commercials.

This was actually a pretty good directorial debut for John Slattery. While he didn't do anything dramatic, all the shots were lighted and framed on par with other Mad Men episodes. I think he also got a really good performance from Elisabeth Moss in her scenes.
I'm glad that Allison finally confronted Don and released alot of the tension between them. That was a surprise that she took that ornament and threw it at him. But, she should have known better than to have a one night stand with a divorced man who has the reputation that he does and expect something more. I was chuckling when I saw Peggy peaking in afterwards.
I have a question on the focus group that Allison was part of. Why did the doctor take off her wedding ring? Was it for her to fit in better with the single young 20-something woman in their discussions?
Overall the show is chugging along strong this season.

One of the better episodes, and surprise, it had little or nothing to do with Betty and Don's home family.
Peggy was freaking hilarious here - from her peeping in on Don to hitting her head on the table and being stoned, etc. It was a showcase for Moss.

Actually, it was her engagement ring but, yes, that was why she did it, and she changed her outfit as well.

At Peggy spying on Don!
What was that look that she and Campbell shared? Was it just a remind him that he knocked her up first?
John Slattery directed this episode.

They might be jumping the gun a bit with some things. 1965 is a little too soon for the Exploding Plastic Inevitable.
Slattery is almost exactly 11 months older than me. I thought he was older than that too.

I took it as that even though their lives are heading in opposite directions, they'll always have a connection to each other even if neither wants to acknowledge it.

I'm also surprised John Slattery is only 48... which is only 7 years older than me. I was thinking mid to late 50's. Loved his line about the jockey smoking the cigarettes.
It's been a while, but Cosgrove sounds/acts different than I remember.
Nice powerplay by Pete there.
I thought they were going to give Peggy a lesbo experience.
This show is definitely at it's best when it's centered around the workplace.

Peggy was great this episode! Loved the head butt she did at her desk.
It'll be interesting to see how they handle Don's increased drinking. The people at the office are clearly noticing it, and the whole Allison debacle must have shown him that it's starting to spill into his work life.
