This was hilarious. Loved the professor's "I was about to close the deal" line when they left the hot-chick-future Earth.
They do a great job with time travel eps.

Best episode of the new season. Loved the in-jokes (seeing the scenes from "old" Futurama fly by as they got closer to 3010). Also, they're getting back to the geeky sci-fi references (Time Machine, with the human race splitting in two).
Also loved the way they solved the time paradox ("this universe is 10 feet lower than our own!")

I loved the reference to Fry sleeping with his Grandma ... I mean, with plot like that, why not bring it up every few episodes.

Best episode yet! Always a fan of time-traveling episodes. So is it safe to say the Fry, Bender, and the professor are now in 2 billion A.D.?

This was a great episode!
I like how the Professor kept knocking the Time Machine control into fast forward whenever he was trying to be precise with it.
(Although the 2nd time around, I'm surprised they didn't stop again at the Amazon women future )

What a great episode. So glad this is back.
Oddly enough, I read "The Accidental Time Machine" this week by Joe Haldeman, which has a similar plot device. Good book.

Wait...so how does killing Elanor Rosevelt in the past change history and the future? I'd like to see some subtle and maybe not so subtle changes in this new time line because of that!

But wasn't that in the middle cycle? If it didn't happen in the final cycle it should have no consequences.

Remember:
The 1st cycle led to them to the end of civilization.
The 2nd cycle, they realized time was cylical so The Professor off'd Hitler.
The 3rd cycle, because they overshot it, The Professor sniped out the window hitting Eleanor Roosevelt.
I suspect we'll get some follow-up to that change in history.

So if time is cyclical, and they went round again and killed the paradoxal Fry, Bender, & Professor before they went into the time machine - wouldn't that have negated the time travel - thus killing the present Fry, Bender & Professor as well? I'm confused, haha.

Well, the way I saw it, time isn't exactly cyclical, meaning when they got to the end of the universe, they didn't go around back to the beginning like some kind of loop. I think what happened is, a new Big Bang started, and everything just happened exactly as it did in the "old" universe, hence, no time paradox. That was a 3rd Fry, Bender and Professor they killed.

I don't know about that...but all I know is if this universe ends and the next "big bang" just makes all this happen over again I will be ticked off! I want something new on the next go around!

Re: Futurama -- "The Late Philip J. Fry" -- 07/29/10
No, time is not cylical.
If you remember on the last go-round as the trio exit the vehicle, they realise the "new universe" is actually 10 feet lower than their original. There is still the time paradox from them being in that time but that was conveniently taken care of, by the old time machine dropping on the future trio.
So a new big bang occurs and life begins anew but not everything is always the same.

If you want something different, you need some sort of cardboard box universe.
