Street Fighter X Tekken (Capcom & Namco joining to kick ass!)
http://ps3.gamezone.com/news/item/st...ken_announced/
Capcom and Namco announced during Comic-Con today that they are joining forces to bring two of the fighting genres biggest franchises together: Street Figher and Tekken.
Few details are available right now, although it appears that there will be two versions of the title. Street Fighter X Tekken will feature Street Fighter's visual style and 2D gameplay, while Tekken X Street Fighter will feature Tekken's style and gameplay. Going by the teaser trailer shown at the convention, it appears that Street Fighter's Ryu and Chun Li will both be making an appearance as playable characters. The trailer also showed some gameplay footage, including a tag team mechanic.
Street Fighter X Tekken is being developed for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms. Capcom and Namco are playing coy when it comes to a release date. "Release date? Not for a while! Enjoy Marvel vs Capcom 3 while you wait!" was all that was said following the trailer.

That's interesting that it's two different games. The first thing that came to mind when I saw the thread was how they would handle the different graphical styles.
I'm not sure if I'd actually want to buy both though.

I don't even like fighting games but I see some news a post it and the first two responses are perfect.

Love Street Fighter. Never got into Tekken, or any of the 3D fighters. Street Fighter vs Mortal Kombat would definitely be appealing.

Love both series, but I'm going for SF x Tekken for the SFIV/Rival Schools-ish engine.

More news about SF x T:
Sad news about Street Fighter X Tekken is coming out of Examiner.com. Apparently, not only was this just a tease, but its going to be a long time before we hear or see anything else about the project.
Ono mentioned to Famitsu Magazine that we shouldnt expect a release of SFxT for at least two years, putting it sometime in 2012. He also noted that Namco's version would come sometime after that, and that we won't get any more news of SFxT until Captivate 2011 (which if you remember is where we got the first Marvel vs Capcom 3 announcement).

Well, they had said "Release date? Not for a while! Enjoy Marvel vs Capcom 3 while you wait!" (and MvC3 isn't coming until next year), so this shouldn't be much of a surprise.

He's not fat; he's just cultivating mass.
That Mega-Man is a callback to the NES box cover. They wanted to do something silly with him and Pac-man (who is riding Mokujin), from what I read. Although, I don't know why MM is so chubby. Maybe that makes it even sillier?
It's kinda shitty for 360 owners that the PS3 gets exclusive characters and the 360 doesn't, especially since Pac-man and Mega Man aren't really tied to Sony.

So the 360 doesn't get any exclusives? Normally I don't give a fuck which system I pick up a game for since I have both and don't really care about my gamerscore/ trophy collection, but with fighting games, I prefer the 360 since I have one of those fancy TE arcade sticks. Exclusive MK Kratos wasn't enough to sway me, but those might be.
Who were those two little characters at the end of that trailer anyway?

Didn't know where to post this.

This thread seems the most reasonable place.
