Insane Salepeople in commericals
After watching a Progressive ad, it became clear to me that Flo is insane. And then it dawned on me that a lot of popular commercials featured people that have some mental defect in some way.
For example, Joe Isuzu - sociopath
Sonny (Coco Puffs) - addictive personality
Mikey (Life cereal) - severe depression
etc.

In addition to insane salespeople, commercials portray their customers insane. Car commercials are the worst. No one is ever that excited to buy a car yet the commercials are the biggest fantasies in the world.

What must ad agencies think of the customers when they think the fact that the head of the company is mentally unstable a good thing?
Lately the Geico commercials have portrayed the head guy as an idiot. Do you really want your insurance through a company run by a moron (or a reptile).
