Hell's Kitchen -- 2 hours -- "10/9 Chefs Compete" -- 06/29/10

HK

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
Chef Ramsay shows his temper---to a patron---during the dinner service that follows the episode's first challenge, in which the contestants make deli sandwiches. The losers' penalty: make peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches. Then Ramsay shuffles the teams, and new teammates face their first challenge: reinventing a wedding menu for a 50th-anniversary party.

2 more hours tonight with our favorite chef.

At this rate they'll be done by the time Master Chef premieres on July 27th! Is that what they're planning?

I think they will go to 1 hour episodes for the final 3. Yeah I believe Master Chef is eventually taking over this timeslot.

Didnt even get a decent shot of Holli's body during the hot tub scene. I feel ripped off. Instead we get to see siobahn in all her glory. Though I must say she is surprisingly well put together from the neck down.

I don't disagree with what Ben was saying to Siobahn, but I don't see how it helps the team when he trashes everyone else ... of course, he acts like an arrogant know-it-all, but it seems like that's how the red team has to be treated in order to produce. The girls on the red team have done very little in the creativity/knowledge/skill department to show that they should be treated as anything more than line cooks.

I like Ben, but he started acting really rude in these episodes. Can't stand Jay, the blue haired douche. Ed was REALLY drunk. If he doesn't win, he will have to face his high school students lol. Anyone else getting tired of the "And the person going home is.......Fran! Get back in line." gag?

In the first episode, what's the point of having the girls team lose, and then firing no one from their team but firing salvatore? We need more of Holli and Autumn in the hot tub though!

I don't look for this show to make sense but this was just confusing. What's the point of naming a winner and having the losing team nominate 2 people if the losing team isn't really the losing team?

This show desperately needs more Holli.

So I'm watching it via express ffw DVR mode and I couldn't believe that Nilka sent that breast of chicken after cutting through it and seeing how raw the center was. I mean, who would send that out?

I always find it funny when teams agonize over these decisions ... this season and all past ones ... Gordon is going to send home who he wants to no matter who is nominated.

How is that any worse than hungover Ed sending out that duck? Even a complete cooking NOVICE could see that it wasn't cooked enough!

I keep waiting for someone to put themselves up strategizing that Ramsay will pick someone who is obviously worse so that they themselves look more humble in Ramsay's eyes. I mean this season more than any previous that I've seen shows that he pretty much already knows who the heck he's punting that episode regardless of the "Who and why" or "Why should you stay in Hell's Kitchen?" To be honesty, I'd rather they cut that "why should you stay" crap all together. It neither ingratiates the chef to the audience nor has any real effect on Ramsay's ultimate decision it seems.

I think this season has the absolute worst batch of contenders thus far. I see either one of these guys taking the job:

Ben
Jay
Ed

Everyone else lacks real talent. They seem to at least know what they're doing.

Is Siobhan a former Suicide Girl or something? I feel like I've seen her before.

Ben is going over the top trying to be a leader

The always going to the wire on the challenges is pathetic. I don't think there has ever been a challenge which didn't go down to the last one.

My gf and I wanted to beat the piss out of Ben. What a fucking douche he is.

Glad to see Siobhan gone, though. I couldn't stand looking at her goblin face much longer.

Re: Hell's Kitchen -- 2 hours -- "10/9 Chefs Compete" -- 06/29/10

Finally sat through all 2 hours last night.

Ben is such an over the top arrogant douche. It's one thing to try to be a leader, but the guy was going into "I'm always right and your wrong territory"

The Red team is just awful. They have no creativity in the kitchen and none of them have displayed any type of respectable leadership ability. I thought Gordon picking the Red team as the losers in the 1st episode and then going backwards and eliminating Salvatore was pretty typical of the show. I think it's really Ramsay showing that he has full control of these people's destinies.

Is it just mean or are the rewards really lame? In the 1st episode, they go and hang out at a 50's Diner and play with Hoola Hoops. I don't get why Ben was getting all weirded out about staring at the waitresses with the short skirts? Okay, your wife is going to complain for you being a man? The 2nd episode, they go hang out at a Winery. It was kind of funny seeing Autumn and Ed get shit faced.

One thing that just irritates me is how everyone has the stones to send out raw food. If you think Gordon screaming at you sucks, just wait until one of these idiots gets fired from a real job when a customer complains and you get fired for real. Seriously, your trying to get a job as a "Head Chef" and you have absolutely zero quality control....Even though we know the reward is definitely not going to be a head chef position, but probably a head Sous Chef job. I was happy to see Siobhan go. No backbone or leadership abilities at all. I found her confessionals funny because they all sounded pre-scripted.

She did say she was some sort of adult performer, with a particular bend towards S&M. She is the definition of butter face.

Holly, on the other hand,

Surprised by everybody drooling over Holli. She's very pretty, but there's probably a reason they didn't show her in the hot tub. Autumn has a rockin body and they've been showing her off left and right. Siobhan is just kinda weird looking but almost hot in some ways but her body is really put together. She said she was a ballerina. Anyway, Holli just screams "pretty but pudgy" to me. Pretty face, nice big cans but I'm thinking a big butt (she admitted that) and a big belly to go along with her big cans and big butt.

She does nothing for me. Face-wise she's okay, but she's very pudgy.
