Sad thing is it's really a good item from an autographing perspective, but it just sucks that I would have something with the pan and scan label! Even though watching would not be the reason I'd get one for (I don't plan to ever play LDs again in my life)

This is widescreen and the color settings on this transfer are gorgeous.

I thought that the "faces" versions were the ones to get. The above was the 3rd to last release. (The Definitive Set, then Faces)

Originals releases

Widescreen

The Definitive Set

Faces

Does it really matter if it's for autograph purposes? I mean i've got some of my LDs signed and it certainly looks nicer than an autographed DVD case. You said yourself you're not going to watch it. I'd imagine you get that puppy signed and then nicely matted and framed and it look sharp.

True. It's just the thought of having something pan and scan, or even worse having something Star Wars pan and scan (can't believe they make these).

This signed LD is my favorite signed piece:

And yes, Star Wars LD wise the faces are the best version to get. However they are now moot thanks to the non-SE DVD releases.

The "faces" versions all have a slightly bluish tint to the colors. I'm sure there's some screencap comparisons out there, but I recently watched the first side of Empire of the version I pointed out and was amazed at how much more natural the colors looked.

I have the widescreen versions and The Definitive Set...I never bought the faces versions...(I thought the faces were the same transfer as the Definitive Set, just CLV vs. CAV?

Nice T2 Signed LD. The only signed LD I have is Fast Times by Cameron Crowe

Wow people still watch LDs?

yep! Only major cast member I'm missing is Robert Patrick, though I don't think I'll get him on there since it looks great as it is. Plus it's got Arnold now so I don't think I want to carry it around anymore.

Re: Anyone know if this is WS or not?

How come? Aside from the odd movie that never made DVD or blu ray is there really a reason to?

I haven't re-bought everything that I had, some still aren't released (esp in the music world), some have different commentaries, some I haven't transfered to DVD-R yet.

Plenty of reasons, plus I have the room, space, hookups and plenty of players (3 LD players working still)...
