Hell's Kitchen -- 2 Hours -- "12/11 Chefs Compete" -- 06/22/10

HK

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
HELL'S KITCHEN does barbecue for the first time ever, and the chefs are challenged to prepare pork-themed dishes with their chosen ingredients. But when the red team fails to keep cool under pressure, Chef Ramsay gives them a piece of his mind. Then, when it comes to judging good food, mother knows best. The chefs are tasked with preparing dishes representing each of the five "mother sauces," and two surprise judges show up to decide which dishes stand out. For the evening's dinner service, it's family night and the pint-sized customers couldn't be more finicky, rowdy and demanding. As tempers flare, one contestant is sent home and Chef Ramsay surprises everyone by throwing in an unexpected twist in the all-new "12 Chefs Compete/11 Chefs Compete" episode of HELL'S KITCHEN.

2 episodes back to back once again.

Scheduling note:

The next 3 airings of the show will also be 2 hours each. I guess FOX doesn't have anything to fill the 9pm hour with until Master Chef premieres July 27th.

I could maybe handle a 2 hour episode of this show but 2 shows back to back is just too much. It's too much repetition.

for some reason I still really enjoy the show a ton so I like having 2 hours each week, though I watch them on Hulu through out the week though sometimes I watch them back to back

I'm pretty liberal with the DVR fastforward on this show which makes it much faster and more palatable ... once you skip the recaps, the long dramatic pauses before commercial, most of the reward/punishment, and the whiny "why I should stay" moments at the end, it's a lean 25 minutes.

Re: Hell's Kitchen -- 2 Hours -- "12/11 Chefs Compete" -- 06/22/10

As predictable as the show is, it's still entertaining...
- Scott is hilarious, he must only have made it that far for entertainment value. "None of you guys work in fine dining restaurants"... so good he broke it out a second time.
- The little kid drawing Chef Ramsey saying "You Donkey" made me smile (OK maybe just a wee bit staged, but pretty damn funny)

The 2 hours though is a bit much without fast forwarding... I like Silentbob's system above.

I can't wait for next week's "shocking conclusion"

Yeah I only watch the dinner services now. I dont care about the house stuff, or the challenges. Takes no time to watch!

Re: Hell's Kitchen -- 2 Hours -- "12/11 Chefs Compete" -- 06/22/10

If any of you skipped the challenges last night, you missed seeing Gordon's mother.

I'm so glad that Scott is gone. Even on the chopping block he was full of himself. The girl who left in the first hour reminded me too much of that girl Suzanne from last season who stayed on way too long. I was happy to see her go, too.

I wonder why Fox is burning off so many new episodes so quickly? Now that I think about it, they are probably trying to finish HK off before Ramsay's new show starts on July 27th.

Scott was either a plant, a really good actor, or the most clueless mofo on the planet. Given the track record of this show I'm leaning toward a bit of creative casting.

One of the most entertaining aspects of the show is seeing the extremely photoshopped portraits of the contestants at the end.

I usually don't care about the house parts either but my ears perked up when Holli was talking about her gigantic porn collection, and then the homemade porn she made.

Damn, did Autumn look hot in that yellow bikini or what? Glad Scott is gone. I didn't mind him at first, but as soon as he switched to the red team he became unbearable. Anyone feel bad for Ben? He is clearly one of the best in the competition and now he gets stuck on the crappy red team.

Yes she did. But her superior attitude makes her ugly. I can see her being a high-maintenance-princess bitch as a girlfriend.

Overjoyed to see the last of Scott and his culinary "talent and leadership". I guess he was just too good for this competition.

Well, don't forget Scott was the only one with experience in FINE DINING. Yeah, he got old fast. And he wasn't that great at cooking- that blood sausage dish looked awful.
And besides Holli's porn confession, Shioban' mentioned her history of fetish performances, etc!
I agree that Fox is probably burning these off in time for MC.

Re: Hell's Kitchen -- 2 Hours -- "12/11 Chefs Compete" -- 06/22/10

Great 2 hours.

Loved it when Ramsay absolutely lost it with the Red team in hour 2 and threw the entire team out of the kitchen. I can never get enough of the look on his face when he screams "Get out!"

I had to laugh when Nilka got pissed off after they were thrown out of the kitchen.

What the hell was up when Siobhan was freaking out about the cleaners? Geez, talk about major hypochodriac.

Thank God Scott got the boot!! The guy was so full of himself and I had to laugh when Gordon said he couldn't stand it anywhere. If I had to listen to more of his shit on what a good leader and great cook he was for 1 more week, I would have gone out of my mind.

When Ramsay was talking to Maria (the girl who looks like a toe) and just walked away saying "She's so weird!" I about fell on the floor. Clearly he's fed things to say by the producers, but you know that one was just a pure reaction to her oddness.

Wait -- Scott had experience in fine dining!? How the hell were we supposed to know that? He should have said something.

I'm surprised Ramsay's wife is on so much this season when she's never appeared before... I guess it's because he got caught banging other chicks and now she won't let him out of her sight?

Exactly what I was going to say. I'm guessing that part of his apology is to wedge her into as many episodes as possible. Pathetic.
