Hell's Kitchen -- 2 Hours -- "14/13 Chefs Compete" -- 06/15/10

HK

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
Chef Ramsay instructs a lesson in teamwork tonight as the chefs are tasked with serving lunch to hungry members of the University of Southern California Trojan Marching Band and Song Girls. That evening during dinner service, both teams feel the pressure, but the red team gets especially heated after one contestant on the red team gets burned. Then, it's "game on" in HELL'S KITCHEN when each team's ingredients are determined by a roll of the dice and the chefs' ability to think on their feet. As the teams race against the clock to craft the perfect dish, tensions between the teammates boil over.

2 episodes back to back tonight.

Please let that hag Fran screw up and be voted out.

Just an FYI

The President is speaking tonight at 8pm ET, so Hell's Kitchen will start at approximately 8:15pm for East Coast Audiences. Pad your DVR if your not watching live tonight!!

Hadn't noticed until tonight but Holli gives me the hot. Might have been seeing her girls almost pop out but she maintained the hot when she had clothes on as well.

And is it me or is Nilka a dead ringer for Shirley from What's Happening?

Don't understand why they sent that first girl home. She seemed fine.

And it's clear "those that can't do teach" is true for that Scott dude.

I didn't pad the DVR, so I don't know how it ended. The last thing I saw was Ramsay telling Scott that he wasn't as good as he thought he was. Both in the bottom two could have gone pretty far, so I have no idea who he sent home. The intro with Salvatore and Scott seemed somewhat edited for a twist of sending Scott home, though.

Siobhan should have been up there for that twice-made lobster mistake.

No one got sent home they swithced teams. Scott is the worst kind of tool. The know it all, control freak who meanwhile cant even get his own shit together. I love how the women keep nominating Autumn even though shes never been close to being the worst cook.

Since it was brought up in a previous thread:

does everyone on the red team smoke? When they were trying to figure which two to nominate, it looked like they were in some back-room poker game.

Well in her defense, she did point out that she'd grabbed the ingredient from a container labeled CRAB. It apparently had crab on the top layer but was all lobster underneath. So whoever did the prep for that f-ed up. That really is the only explanation. I can see her thinking she grabbed the wrong thing the first time, but she obviously made sure she grabbed out of the CRAB container the second time. She even showed everyone that the container was mislabeled.

Interesting that they switched this early. But Rasmay had definitely been eying both Autumn and Scott's busy-body, know-it-all behaviors in the kitchen during both of tonight's episodes. Both Autumn and Scott's next service should be interesting.

Two hours of this show is just too much to take in one sitting.

Thanks! I found it on hulu this morning. Scott is a serious buttwipe, but I still think that both of them have the potential to stick around a lot longer. I guess Chef Ramsay felt the same way. I think this switch will probably buy them several more weeks on the show without the threat of elimination.

Kevin from last season was the know-it-all busybody, but now there's one for each team, and it's funny how they'd swear they are helping others out and motivating them.

It is, it's just such a by the numbers show that by the time they're setting up the reward challenge in the beginning of the second episode I'm thinking "again".

I missed the first twenty minutes of the first episode last night and realized I didn't miss a thing. I don't care about the challenges, the bickering or even the contestants themselves. I watch because I want to see Gordon Ramsey go postal in the kitchen. The show is crap when he's not on screen.

It seems to me that every contestant in the history of this show has a four-pack-a-day habit.

Not for me, I love this show. Even though its alittle too over the top with its editing and announcer/ voice over.

Re: Hell's Kitchen -- 2 Hours -- "14/13 Chefs Compete" -- 06/15/10

Great 2 hours.

I seriously wanted to pound my head in the wall everytime that douche Scott opened his mouth.

I cannot stand Jason. The guy is a total meathead who is all talk and I think he's fucking nuts too.

The 2nd episode was interesting seeing Kevin Frazier (the Entertainment Tonight host who was there with his wife) as I worked with him at FOX Sports for roughly 2 1/2 years before he went to ESPN and then eventually to ET. I didn't know him super well, but he was friendly to most people at work.

I'm surprised that Debi Mazur knew how to speak Italian when she communicated with Salvatore.

Loved Sous Chef Andi giving that wacko Maria a stern look after she broke down and told her to get her act together. I had to laugh when she blushed at Chef's comment about her.

Was also surprised that the 2nd episode was non-elimination so early in the season. Autumn really does nothing for me, even though she is probably the best looking of all the girls.

This was exhausting. I mean, my gf and I love watching the show and all, but I'll agree that 2 hours was an endurance challenge. Next time they do this I might just save the 2nd episode for later in the week.

Yeah I still haven't gotten around to that second hour and after watching real chefs cook on Top Chef last night it'll be hard to stomach those sorry excuses for cooks.
