Favorite "Judd Apatow" film?
Including all the films in the Apatow family tree, which one is the best?
I got to go with Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Also a huge fan of I Love You Man, but was surprised that Judd wasn't a producer on that one.

Apatow has produced many more movies than are available in the poll, such as The Cable Guy, for example, but okay...
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy: **½
The 40-Year-Old Virgin: ***½
Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby: ***
Knocked Up: **
Superbad: ****
Forgetting Sarah Marshall: ***
Step Brothers: ***
Pineapple Express: ****
Funny People: ****
Get Him to the Greek: ***½
Very hard to choose between Pineapple and Superbad. Right now I'd say Pineapple by a hair. I can neither confirm nor deny this is entirely because of Amber Heard.

40 YOV. thought it was the complete package of slapstick, but smart humor coupled with a nice story and some heart. excellent performances by all and the momentum never stops right through the wonderful musical ending. love it everytime i watch it.
Funny People would be my second as it just surprised the hell out of me at how much i loved it. falters a bit at the dinner scene with Mann's kids and all, but everything else was a surprisingly poignant and funny movie.

40 Year-old Virgin
If we included movies Apatow was not directly involved with but either featured actors he works with or was a movie influenced by him (i.e., Role Models or I Love You, Man) -- I Love You, Man would get my vote (liked that one quite a bit).

I'll go with Sarah Marshall. All of them have been pretty enjoyable to me, with the exception of Funny People which I thought was dreadful.

Have to go with 40 Year Old Virgin, but Step Brothers gets some love as well... And although he doesnt have anything to do with it really, Im throwing in Observe and Report as well. I was just watching this and forgot how much I enjoyed it.

FSM for me too, one of the most consistently funny movies I've ever seen.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall. I think it's got the best balance of humor and heart. After that it would be Anchorman for being the most absurdly quotable, and then 40 Year Old Virgin. Honorable mention for Walk Hard.
The worst three would have to be Funny People, Drillbit Taylor, and Pineapple Express.

Have to go with Step Brothers, but I would only consider the films that Apatow has directed to be a "Judd Apatow film". Out of the one's he's directed, and not only produced, I'd go with The 40 Year Old Virgin.

Re: Favorite "Judd Apatow" film?
I have to go with Funny People. I think it's the best failure I've seen. By that I mean... if he'd just been a little gutsier and either trimmed the movie down to it's essentials, or even better, let the fucker be a 3.5 hour epic, it could have been glorious. As it is, it feels compromised.
It also hits me in the gut in a personal way for a couple reasons. I will say this... never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever EVEREVEREVEREVER try to date a stand-up comic... THEY ARE FUCKING INSANE!!!!!!!!!!

I've never seen a single one of these films all the way through. I started watching a couple of them on cable, but found them excruciatingly unfunny, so I didn't last. I've taped others, so I may give those a chance...someday.

Re: Favorite "Judd Apatow" film?
I haven't seen Get Him To The Greek yet, but from the opening sequence that was posted on the FunnyOrDie site and some of the reviews, I'd wager I'd enjoy that one the most. (Plus, anything with Rose Byrne in a bikini = automatic win)
Otherwise, I'd probably go with Forgetting Sarah Marshall as my favorite.
As my least favorite, I'm voting Funny People. For a movie with that title, I found it devoid of any appreciable humor for the most part.

^ Rose Byrne has some quality outfits in that flick.
