Re: Top Shot
The show is somewhat similar to "Bull Run" on the "Speed" Channel, -the 16 marksmen (each specializing in a different type of weapon) are broken into two teams and given a target-shooting challenge (using rifles of a historical nature than none of the competitors have previous experience with) that employs elements of an obstacle course. The losing team must choose two of their teammates (everyone gets one vote) to go into a second head-to-head challenge and the loser goes home. There's a certain amount of strategy and "politics" that goes into choosing the two for the final challenge. One interesting element is that many of the competitors know each other from outside the comp and the player who most clearly lost the challenge for the team had some of the others covering for him out of loyalty. Much like "Bull Run", the producers dress up what is obviously a lower-budgeted show by using explosives, -in this case when the marksman hits a target, its marked by an explosion.

Re: Top Shot
Seemed interesting in the promos. Ended up as sort of a let down since they structured it like a paint by the numbers reality competition show (teams, competition, voting, eliminations challenge). It would have been better if they ditched the teams and eliminations and everyone got a score each week based on performance and at the end the person who accrued the most points won. The exploding targets are stupid. It even affected one of the competitors shooting in the elimination challenge. The guy who shot second said he had to wait for the smoke from the explosion to clear to take his shot. That kid was pretty nasty with that rifle though.

The "logic" used by the three people who voted Kelly was horrible. I was happy to see him crush Mike. That was a really impressive performance.
Agreed. Colby was even mimicking Jeff Probst 100%. Oh well, I'll stick around.

I was entertained enough by the first episode to stick around. I'm a sucker for competition shows like this as long as I can watch it off the DVR and filter through all the filler.

Re: Top Shot
Wow I'm really enjoying this show, glad Kelly beat Brad. I can't wait they have throwing knives coming soon. I think I also saw a preview for sling shots. I hope the show gets picked up for a second season.

Re: Top Shot
The show has been renewed. I've enjoyed it a lot more than I expected to, -the challenges have been clever and I've been really surprised at the amount of ego and animosity going on.

Challenges have been great, can't stand Denny, pulling for JJ and Kelly to win
Would love to see a John Woo style shooting 2 handguns at once challenge

Re: Top Shot
I see they still have cocky people that continue to be cocky in their post vote interview after they're voted for elimination due to sucking out

We watch this show for the first time today, the. 22 caliber ep, and my wife became instantly hooked. Turns out she wanted to be Annie Oakley when she was growing up!
