DVDTalk Draft Round 2 (MountainBiker vs Fist of Doom)
Hello voter! Please vote for the team of characters that you like better. It's all personal preference. If one character on the list ruins a team for you and you select the other team based on that alone, so be it (although it would be preferred that you look at the team as a whole)
We would love to hear feedback and why you chose one team over another. Feel free to comment, ask questions, criticize, etc.

I liked Mountain Biker's depth more, but I'm surprised with all those great picks so many people cite Khan.

Mountain Biker
1. The Terminator + (great as a villain or a hero)
2. Sam Quint + (best character of the film)
3. Jack Torrance + (not a "dull boy" at all)
4. Hans Gruber + (a great hero requires a great villain)
5. Dr. Peter Venkman + (classic Murray)
6. Neal Page + (a surprising pick, but a character I enjoyed)
7. Jack Burton - (Snake Plissken knock-off)
8. Clarice Starling + (somewhat dilluted by the sequels)
9. Neil McCauley + (perhaps De Niro's last great performance)
10. Khan Noonien Singh + (love this guy)
Total Pluses: 9
Fist of Doom
1. Darth Vader +
2. Bill the Butcher +
3. Jules Winnfield +
4. Lord Humungus -
5. Aragorn -
6. Beetlejuice +
7. William Munny +
8. Steve Zissou -
9. Jackie Brown -
10. Véronique - (not seen)
Total Pluses: 5

Re: DVDTalk Draft Round 2 (MountainBiker vs Fist of Doom)
Sam Quint and Hans Gruber were two characters on my "to draft" list. Throw in Jack Burton--possibly my favorite Kurt Russell performance outside of Tombstone--and Mountain Biker's got three compelling reasons to get my vote. Peter Venkman is a nice addition to the roster, though my favorite Bill Murray role is in Wild Things, followed by Lost in Translation and Zombieland. Which is to say, it's a likable role, but not the one I'd have gone with.
Fist of Doom's roster has Bill the Butcher, a very fascinating character and a brilliant performance by Daniel Day-Lewis, and I still love Michael Keaton as the titular Beetlejuice. Darth Vader is a good pick, and I still view that as including the persona of Anakin Skywalker. The idea of the chosen one falling from grace is a compelling story premise, and I thought--on the whole--it was well told in those six features.
