DVDTalk Draft Round 2 (wishbone vs Bobby Shalom)
Hello voter! Please vote for the team of characters that you like better. It's all personal preference. If one character on the list ruins a team for you and you select the other team based on that alone, so be it (although it would be preferred that you look at the team as a whole)
We would love to hear feedback and why you chose one team over another. Feel free to comment, ask questions, criticize, etc.

Re: DVDTalk Draft Round 2 (wishbone vs Bobby Shalom)
Not a big fan of most of the characters in either list here, but any list that includes Charles Foster Kane can't be all bad, so...

Wishbone only had Citizen Kane and Seven Samurai to impress me.
Bobby had Travis Bickle, Philip Marlowe, Tony Montana, Walker and Rocky Sullivan. Can't beat that lineup.

1. Tyler Durden + (love this guy, perhaps picked too early though)
2. Atticus Finch + (my son is named after this character)
3. Kikuchiyo + (I could watch this performance over and over)
4. Charles Foster Kane + (classic)
5. Jeff Spicoli + (hilarious and memorable)
6. John Shaft + (Jackson played a different character!)
7. Pinhead + (memorable villain)
8. Kirk Lazarus + (I couldn't stop laughing)
9. "Cool Hand" Luke Jackson + (great anti-hero)
10. Alan Swann - (I thought this movie was DOA)
Total Pluses: 9
Bobby Shalom
1. Travis Bickle + (classic character, easy first round pick)
2. Rick Deckard - (I would have gone with the Rutger Hauer chararcter)
3. Daniel Plainview + (this character drinks my milkshake)
4. Phillip Marlowe + (mostly for Bogart's performance)
5. Harold Chasen - (Maude would have been the better pick)
6. Tony Montana + (that terrible accent makes the character even better)
7. John "Bluto" Blutarsky + (the ultimate Belushi role)
8. Walker + (Lee Marvin is great in ANYTHING)
9. Malcolm Tucker - (haven't seen)
10. Rocky Sullivan - (there are much better Cagney characters to choose from)
Total Pluses: 6
Winner: wishbone
Note to cleaver -- I accidentally voted for Bobby Shalom, please manually change my vote if this ends closely.

Re: DVDTalk Draft Round 2 (wishbone vs Bobby Shalom)
I've seen very few of the movies involved. Most of them aren't even on my "I want to see" list, though a few are. Of the characters I'm familiar with, I thought Jeff Spicoli was amusing, but hardly "greatest/favorite character of all time" material. Still feel Animal House is vastly over-rated, so neither character is sufficient to sway me.
Kirk Lazarus, on the other hand, I found genuinely fascinating as a work of surreality. Downey played him expertly, letting us in on the joke early...and then somewhere in the movie, it stopped being a joke and was instead a clever commentary on the nature of celebrity and the psychology of actors. wishbone gets the nod.
