Hell's Kitchen -- Season 7 Premiere -- "16 Chefs Compete" -- 06/01/10

HK

Synopsis for 16 Chefs Compete:

Spoiler:
Season 7 opener: The 16 chefs vying for a slot in chef Gordon Ramsay's restaurant in a London hotel are introduced, split into teams (men vs. women) and, for their first challenge, must prepare their signature dishes. Then comes dinner service. Chef Ramsay guarantees that it will be completed, and that means even more pressure than usual for the contestants, one of whom is eliminated.

It's baaack!! The show you either love or hate. Instead of doing one gigantic season thread like previous seasons, I'll try to do these week to week.

Sous Chefs this season:
Scott (Returning)

Andi (New): Her Bio:
http://www.fox.com/hellskitchen/bios/andi/index.php

Contestants:
http://www.poptower.com/news-15198/h...ants-chefs.htm

Love this show and how ridiculous it gets. One of my favorite (Scripted?) Reality Competitions.

Re: Hell's Kitchen -- Season 7 Premiere -- "16 Chefs Compete" -- 06/01/10

I've been waiting for this. Thanks for posting as I had no idea it was premiering tonight.

I'll definitely watch, but here's hoping a few things are different this year. Certainly sounds like the first episode will just be more of the same, but then again, the first episode is always my favorite. It's all just for show, but it's fun listening to Gordon slam everybody's "signature" dishes and then watch everybody fall apart in the kitchen.

Anyway, as much as I love this show, every single season seems to be exactly the same. The challenges are the same, the forced drama is the same. I have no suggestions as to what could be different, but I just wish somebody could come up with a few ways to liven up this show.

I know that my wife will want to watch this again, but it after so many seasons, it's gotten extremely repetitive. Regardless, I'll probably watch as well.

I wonder if they'll have some kind of shocking preview for next weeks show, only to have it be nothing serious?

Two guarantees for every episode: It will be the the most shocking episode of Hell's Kitchen ever, and every contestant will smoke a carton of cigarettes. Oh, a third guarantee: I'll watch.

I wonder if any of the team reward competitions this year WON"T come down to the very last dish. Seriously, has there ever been a lopsided comp on this show? I poke fun, yet I still watch every year. Guess that makes me part of the problem.

I love this show. BUT... It is one of the worst offenders of a pet peeve of mind. Showing what is coming later in the episode. I HATE that.

There's a girl from the Philly area that are on this that I just cannot wait for Ramsay to lay into. She thinks she is the greatest thing to come along. Did I mention she's the "executive chef" at a bar.

What the Over/Under on the number of time Ramsey will yell "SHUT IT DOWN" this season? I say 9 times.

"This chicken is RAW...what are you trying to do kill somebody?"

I don't think HK does that much if at all. I always see them go to commercial with the food item branded with the HK logo. The opening introduction to the season on the other hand gives alot away.

Kitchen Nightmares on the other hand does it every show and that's one of the reasons I stopped watching it.

KN can only be watched on DVR for this reason. A two minute preview of the next five minute segment does seem a tad excessive. So the moment "coming up next" is uttered, the 30-second skip X 8 goes into effect. You can also get through the 1 hour episode in about 30 minutes without missing anything that way.

The last 5 minutes of every episode SUCK.

Why should you get to stay in Hell's Kitchen??

*mass blubbering ensues*

Oh yes, I'll be watching the donkey master.

Taking bets as to whom makes fun of Gordon's real-life restaurants going belly-up first.

I was introduced to and got hooked on Kitchen Nightmares earlier this year. Some of the things they show in those kitchens are unforgiveable IMO. If they are showing me rat droppings and roaches running around a kitchen, I don't care if Jesus came to clean it up, I'm not eating there. I wouldn't be surprised if the show hasn't provided litigants with evidence for food poisoning cases.

As for Hell's Kitchen, last season was my first (I'm late on the Ramsay train), so this is still pretty new to me.

Wow, they have a Siobhan this season too. I guess the name was popular at one point. I'd never heard it until AI.

Typical Hell's Kitchen. Everything was exactly the same.

Now, having said that (cue Larry David), I loved it. Maybe I just missed watching from whenever it was on last, but I always get really into this show. Seem like decent people so far. I know they do it on purpose for the sake of drama, but I hate it when they have REALLY unlikable people on there. Jenn from a couple seasons ago jumps immediately into my head. I can't stand Fran and the chick that laughed constantly and then claimed that she never laughed once. Other than that, most seem likable enough.

Oh, and Autumn is smokin hot. Can't wait till the hot tub episodes start popping up.

I am proud of myself.

I actually stopped watching ten minutes in. There is hope for this sad soul.

Wow, there are some creepy people in the show and not one likeable person. This season will suck.
