Series You Own All But One Installment

I was thinking about this. At one point I didn't own Halloween 3 and 6 because I really hated them. Eventually I bought them because I got them super cheap. I can't really think of any other series where I don't own them all (unless you count AVP and AVP-R as part of the Alien or Predator series) I guess Terminator is another one I don't own Terminator Salvation since I hated that movie.

Anyone else?

Re: Series You Own All But One Installment

Funny you mention the Halloween films because that's one for me. I own every one, including the Rob Zombie remake. But I checked out the most recent installment from Redbox and have no desire to watch it again anytime soon. I guess it could be debated that the Zombie ones aren't part of the original series and wouldn't count, but I'm including 'em for the sake of your question.

And the other one that comes to mind is owning all of the Jaws films except for The Revenge which I pretend is not part of the series because it is truly awful.

Re: Series You Own All But One Installment

-I own Beverly Hills Cop 1 and 2, but not 3.
-I own Dario Argento's Suspiria and Inferno, but I don't own Mother of Tears.
-I own Crocodile Dundee 1 and 2, but not Los Angeles.
-I own every James Bond film except Quantum of Solace (I was waiting for the "Definitive Edition" to come out, like they did with Casino Royale; I was right, it'll be out soon).
-I own Mission: Impossible 1 and 2, not 3.

It's more than one installment, but I don't own Alien 3 or Alien Resurrection. Also, I own Halloween 1, 2, 4 and Zombie's remake, and I don't own the others. I own Vacation and Christmas Vacation, not European and Vegas. And I own Star Trek 2, 3, 4 and the reboot, but none of the others. That's all I can think of off hand.

EDIT: I own the first 3 X-Men films (even The Last Stand), but not Wolverine. That was just too much garbage.

Re: Series You Own All But One Installment

I also don't have Terminator Salvation because I'm waiting to find the Target exclusive DVD at a decent price.

There's some Godzilla flicks I don't own because they're either pan and scan or simply not available.

I have Batman (1989) and Batman Returns, but not Forever or B&R.

Me too, for the same exact reason. I haven't yet seen it below $20, and that is way too much money for that flick.

Re: Series You Own All But One Installment

"Child's Play" (want to get it but have a hard time justifying paying more for one film in a series than I paid total for the rest of them).

"Halloween 3" (because I hated it)

"Fast and Furious" (just never got around to picking it up, but I have all 3)

"Sleepaway Camp 4"

Re: Series You Own All But One Installment

I own Terminator 1-3 and consider it the end of the franchise.

I own Raiders, Temple of Doom and Last Crusade. I don't acknowledge the existence of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

I own X Men 1-3. won't ever own Wolverine.

I own the Alien Quadrilogy but neither VS movie.

Major League 1&2 but not the sequel that I don't even remember the title to.

I own If.. and O Lucky Man, but not Britania Hospital.

Re: Series You Own All But One Installment

I own all the Halloweens except for Halloween III,and Rob Zombie's Halloween II,tho I plan on picking up H2 when it hits $7.50 or less.

I own all the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies, the original, part II,and Leatherface as well as the Remake & Remake Prequel but I try to ignore that "Next Generation" even exists.

I own all the seasons of Tales From The Crypt, and the Deadly Duo double feature,as well as the Canadian releases of Tales from the Cryptkeeper Seasons 1 & 2 but will probably never pick up Ritual based on reviews and the opinion of one of my best friends who LOVES horror movies and TFTC but hates Ritual and only owns it to complete his collection.

I don't own Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, because I didn't like the movie enough to buy it,BUT I will eventually buy it once the Trilogy comes to Blu-Ray.

I own Return of the Living Dead 1 & 2,but haven't picked up 3 because I'm waiting on a Uncut R1 release,and again I try to ignore Parts 4 & 5

Not technically a series, but I own 3 DVD Editions of The Original Night of the Living Dead(Fox Colorized Mike Nelsoned Version,30th Anniversary Edition, and the 40th Anniversary Edition),and then the 1990 Remake, but have yet to buy the 2006 3D Remake. I also have Day of the Dead but NOT the "unofficial official" sequel Day of the Dead 2:Contangium or the Remake both because they got bad reviews and they look like horseshit(even tho the cover for DOTD2:C is pretty cool, but come on the Remake's cover has a Zombie Puking? WTF?)

I own every Pixar Blu-Ray Yet(as well as DVDs of Finding Nemo,The Incredibles and both the 2-Disc Anniversary & Toy Box Editions of Toy Story I & 2) BUT for some odd reason haven't picked up A Bug's Life yet. No idea why, seeing as I liked the movie, and have every other Pixar release even the Pixar Shorts Volume I Blu-Ray. I will probably buy it when Toy Story 3 comes to Blu-Ray seeing as when a Pixar movie comes out the others usually go on sale with the new one.

I'm sure there are more but these are what came to mind 1st.

Re: Series You Own All But One Installment

Pumkinhead 1, 3, & 4. Part 2 is stupid and has nothing to do with the original storyline.

Pet Sematary is not half bad (not quite as good as the book but not bad), Pet Sematary 2 is stupid (made for the kiddies).

Star Trek (The Motion Picture), Star Trek 2 (The Wrath of Khan), Star Trek 3 (The Search For Spock), but skipped Star Trek 4 (The Voyage Home), the one about the whales, because it's stupid. -kd5-

Re: Series You Own All But One Installment

I own the 2 Aliens vs. Predator movies, but neither solo Predator film. I've been meaning to pick them up, but have held off in case there is a reissue with movie money for the new flick.

This is the same reason I skipped No. 5!

IMO No. 4 is the Funniest of the Star Trek Movies!

Own X-Men 1 - 3 on Blu-ray, will never own Wolverine.

Re: Series You Own All But One Installment

I forgot about Sleepaway Camp, I also don't own Return to Sleepaway Camp, one of the worst movies ever. I also own Urban Legend and Urban Legends: Final Cut but not Bloody Mary (though I feel Final Cut was pretty damn bad).

-I own the first 3 X-Men films but not Wolverine, because I disliked that movie
-I own Pumpkinhead 1 & 2 but not 3 & 4 because those were just stupid
-I own Return of the Living Dead parts 1 & 2, as stated by someone else I'm also awaiting a R1 uncut version to come out. 4 was awful, 5 was okay at best

Re: Series You Own All But One Installment

Kung Fu Season 2 & 3, but not 1 because they matted out part of the image. I used to have the seasons of Quantum Leap that managed to be released without the music changes, but dumped them...

As a collector, my OCD wouldn't allow me to not own every installment in a series.

Can't think of any where I'm just missing one, but on the other hand I own Leonard, Part 6 but don't own the other 5 because I could never find them.
