DVD Talk review of 'Opium and the Kung-Fu Master'

I read Bobby Cooper's DVD review of Opium and the Kung-Fu Master at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=43543 and...
Many of the Shaw Brothers pictures have this far-edge distortion due to the anamorphic lenses used to achieve the Shawscope widescreen image.
It's something that shows up on most of these recently re-issued pictures from the last couple years, and is seemingly unique to the Shawscope process - I don't see it in other widescreen films produced during the same time in other coutries.

Thanks for the clarification on the visual distortion.
