Community -- Contemporary American Poultry -- 4/22/10

Spoiler:
Jeff (Joel McHale) and Troy (Donald Glover) take on the chicken finger shortage that has a gripped Greendale Community College. Witnessing this show of activism by her fellow students causes Britta (Gillian Jacobs) to struggle with the unsatisfactory number of causes she currently supports.

No thread for this one?

I'm not sure where TV guide got that synopsis from, but it only vaguely resembles tonights episode. Anyway, the Goodfellas homages had me rolling. On the downside, seeing Annie's Boobs was not as exciting as I had hoped it would be.

Anyone know the name of the song that played during Abed's revenge sequence? I think it was also used in Goodfellas. I should know this, but I don't.

It was the instrumental coda from Layla by Derek and the Dominoes (and most closely associated with D&D singer/guitarist Eric Clapton). And yes, it was a direct lift from Goodfellas.

Jadzia:

D'oh! I'm embarrassed that I didn't know that. Definitely not as familiar with Clapton as I probably should be. Thanks man.

This is among my favorites of the season. Loved the mob movie style and it had a bunch of funny crammed in too.

So apparently this episode got completely retooled... sounds like it turned out to be a more original episode.

What a great episode - the best episode of this show yet.

Loved Annie's Boobs !!! and the show knows she is hot - and it seems like they are making her bounce around a lot

Damn, apparently noone watched this episode last night or thought it was a repeat. Only 3.9M and 1.7 in the demos. Were Community fans really watching the NFL draft last night?

Great episode, but this was my favorite exchange:

Troy: I think that I am failing psychopharmacology
Brita: Why are you taking that?
Troy: I thought that it was a class about crazy farm animals!

On my Comcast guide, it said it was going to be a repeat, so I missed it.

Didn't find out there was an episode until I saw a comment about the Draft beating out The Office, and looked into if that was a repeat or not

Re: Community -- "Contemporary American Poetry" -- 04/22/10

It was a good episode, but the chicken finger storyline got old really fast. I did think it was funny when the cafeteria manager called one of Abeb's "references" and it was Pierce as "Mr. Trump"

The line with Troy saying he needed to give a bannana to Annie's boobs was pretty funny.

Loved Annie getting the new backpack and doing the robot.

Re: Community -- "Contemporary American Poetry" -- 04/22/10

I loved the part where the Dean was snacking on the chicken fingers while Starburns was complaining about losing the fryer gig and the "Where's Annie's Boobs, Annie's Boobs could be anywhere, they could be on the side of a road" bit from Troy.

Thought it was an awesome episode and they really know how to do pop-culture homages.

I like how this show has gotten far more wacky than when it first started.

Caught this in a rerun last night and I had to jot down the notes for each character on the whiteboard in Abed's office, since it is one of my favorite episodes (along with the paintball episode). I didn't get them all but I did get most:
