Great tie in at the end with the house for Ted's future family.

What the hell happened to this show? Even Barney's not funny anymore.

The highlight of the episode was seeing the Mayor from Buffy again. =/

HIMYM is on a cold streak right now. Just another bland episode.

Although I did like the call back to the Brunch episode with the broche. HIMYM still does that better than any show.

Too Ted-centric of an ep.

I liked it a lot. "Drunk or Kid" is great game idea. And I liked the Minnesota shoutout about I-94.

"Drunk or Kid" was pretty funny at first, but they drove it into the ground quickly. It would have better as something like the slap bet where it just pops up from time to time.

Yeah, that episode kinda sucked. Drunk or kid wasn't bad but Ted's parents' plot was just stupid IMO.

Maybe I'm the last person on Earth to know this, but I'd like to point out that the actress who plays Ted's daughter has a big role in "Kick-ass" as Kick-ass' love interest.

Didnt notice about the daughter... maybe its cause she hasnt aged for 5 years haha. She looked great in the film though. Beautiful eyes.

Wow, this episode sucked. Drunk or Kid was funny the first time. Way too much Ted, but the Barney or Marshall didn't even really bring the funny with the little they had. Ted's mothers story added nothing to the story.

Pretty boring episode. The Robin/Barney crying over the song turned from being unfunny to annoying.

I'm holding on for the big reveal as to how he met the kid's mother. I hope the series isn't cancelled before we find out, but at the same time, I hope they wrap it up sooner rather than later.

What a weak episode! Drunk or Kid and the barney/robin thing was overkilled quickly!

Boring. What happend, did they lose some of the writers? This was just your average sitcom, plain boring.

I'll echo everyone elses thoughts that this was a really weak episode.

Re: How I Met Your Mother -- "Home Wreckers" -- 04/19/10

Ted is absolutely dragging this show down. I remember reading a season or two ago and everyone bagging on him and thinking it was a bit unjust.

But now, I feel exactly the same way. It's the same crap over and over and with the supporting players not even bringing the funny to help support the show, it has become unbearable.

It's a difficult balance to give the protagonist a love interest but have a slow build to getting them together. Some shows move to quickly and don't know where to go when they get there. Others take way too long. A few find a good balance (or change things enough once they're together that it doesn't become the center of the episodes). This show has just dragged it too much. There needs to be some kind of payoff soon or this will go the way of Heroes and earn itself off of season record on DVR and then out of my viewing schedule completely.

Re: How I Met Your Mother -- "Home Wreckers" -- 04/19/10

the funniest thing was him getting approved for a mortgage and signing the paper work in 72 hours

not really but I thought it was pushing the limits of unbelievablity even for a sitcom

I was going to go there but just couldn't be bothered to bring it up. Credit approval, appraisal and no inspection all within 72 hours.

That's what I was thinking. Drag it out in random episodes. Instead they took the SNL route and just drove it into the ground inside of 22 minutes.

Exactly, like a bank would EVER give a loan on a house without an inspection. That really bothered me, and I usually don't care on my favorite shows.

Eh, they did it three times (rule of threes) and it was funny every time. I'm fine with the way it was handled.

Clearly, Ted had his timeline confused. The events of this episode probably didn't occur in 2010 as he told his kids, but back during the height of the housing bubble.

And since the wedding was probably on a Friday or Saturday night, 24 of those 72 hours were on a Sunday.
