Bones -- "The Death of the Queen Bee" -- 04/15/10

Bones

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
The team's latest case takes Brennan back to her alma mater, Burtonsville High School, where she and Booth investigate the discovery of an unidentified skull and upper torso. With Angela's help, they identify the victim as one of Brennan's classmates, and notice a possible connection to a second murder committed 15 years prior. Brennan and Booth go undercover as a married couple at her class reunion to interrogate a set of suspects, where even as an adult, Brennan is still predictably misunderstood and her only friend lies in a strangely dark and offbeat janitor (guest star Robert Englund). Meanwhile, Hodgins spills a lab secret.

Robert Englund is the special guest star.

Re: Bones -- "The Death of the Queen Bee" -- 04/15/10

This episode felt like a completely wasted opportunity.

I was expecting so much more after the opening, a few stories of Bone's past, or maybe even a running joke of her awkward "subtle" attempts to impress her classmates with her success. To make matters worse the under utilized setting distracted from the case of the week, which was extremely basic and uninteresting. Were they thinking Englund was going to carry the episode or something? His cameos were amusing, somewhat, but not enough to make up for the rest of it.

Is there any way they could squeeze the Angela relationship storyline bits in with the commercials so I can skip them all in one go? Maybe the could just put them right before the commercial breaks and have the Tivo mascot dance around the bottom screen.
