Ep is not-to-be-missed. I love mythology shows. And the cliffhanger is superb.

Has this show been renewed for a second season yet, or is this another case of the audience being screwed by a cliffhanger if there is no second season?

Like most shows, a decision won't be made until next month.

Why do shows do this, then? Do think more or less people will watch if they don't offer closure on the drama they provide?

Why does Fox leave everything on the bubble that isn't Family Guy or Simpsons? This show is a proven success, so why not keep it?

Of course given the network's track record their keeping it would also include moving it to Friday night where it would drop like a rock and then be labeled an instant failure.

Re: Human Target -- Season Finale -- "Christopher Chance" -- 04/14/10

The producers are putting pressure on FOX to renew the show by ending on a cliffhanger. FOX is out of their mind if they don't renew it, and I said that BEFORE I saw the ending. The good news is that FOX seems to be high on the show, and the odds of renewal are very good. I mean Dollhouse got renewed last year when nobody gave it a chance.

But don't let the ending stop you from watching. I said this in the thread for last week, but I'll say it here too: this is by far the best episode of the series. The episode ends with a cliffhanger, yes, but it answers far more questions about the mythology of the show than it leaves open at the end.

The end is a great setup for Season 2, but the trip to it is a superb ending for season 1.

It's not just FOX. Every network has to evaluate their shows and what Pilots they have in development. Unless the show is cancelled extremely early, if your a TV writer your not going to write your season finale to have closure. Your trying to keep your job for another year.

The advantage this show has is FOX needs an action show skewing towards the male viewer now that Prison Break and 24 have now ended.

We saw the boat blow up but did we see her on it when it happened? I was busy on the computer while watching it so may have missed it. Will check the tivo later to be sure.

Ok, I'm not the only one that got a very strong ESB "homage" at the end there right?

Damn, I love this show and this episode just pushed it up to being one of my favorite shows on TV.

I was also thinking about ESB at the end of this ep. Go figure. This ep. rocked, no question about it. I agree that Assante needed subtitles.

Why do I have the suspicion that Catherine isn't really dead? We only saw the explosion, and we all know how easily those can be escaped in these kind of shows. Plus, I want more Amy Acker!

I'm wondering the same thing, I didn't see her on the boat.

No, we didn't.

My usual instincts would be to say she's alive, but then we just had an episode where they setup the FBI chick as having died via explosion only to reveal she slipped out the back. Maybe that was setting up a double bluff. And we also know that Chi was at the docks while everything was going down and he he recovered the case and hid it away, presumably without telling Chance. Maybe he did the same thing with Acker.

So if Catherine is still alive, where has she been hiding for the last 6 years?

Re: Human Target -- Season Finale -- "Christopher Chance" -- 04/14/10

While not a big role it was nice to see Lee Majors back in action.
I haven't seen Majors in anything since The 6 Million Dollar Man/Bionic Woman Reunion movies.

I thought we saw a Tombstone for Kathrine in another episode. Of Course, that could be just a ploy by Chance to throw off his enemies.

It was an Exciting Season ender.
Hope the show is renewed.

Re: Human Target -- Season Finale -- "Christopher Chance" -- 04/14/10

but u would think they would show her right up until the explosion. but all we seen was the boat go boom. maybe they gave her a new identity. that book is pretty important. i was hoping that FBI chick would show up in the finale.

I forgot the Tombstone. Of course that doesn't prove there's a body in there or anything. I doubt that would be a ploy by chance, as that implies he is aware of her still being alive (if she is), and he clearly isn't.

This series really knows how to balance mythology and entertaining standalones, much like the first four seasons of X-Files.

Anyone know how this show is doing ratings wise per actual numbers?

Still holding out hope that Katherine somehow survived the blast.

I sort of like the nickname "Jr." for Chance. And I did like the guest-star for the previous Chance.

If Fox doesn't bring back "Human Target", it might rival the cliff-hanger they left us with for "Fastlane" a few years back.

I enjoyed the episode, but the cliffhanger didn't hook me at all.

It was a good episode, but I agree: the cliffhanger wasn't the big thing it was being made out to be.
