20th Century Boys Trilogy: The Complete Saga (4digitalmedia)

I'm glad to see that 4-Digital Media is finally putting out the complete 20th Century Boys saga on a reasonably affordable Region 2 dvd. May 31st

They were suppose to release Part 2 last February along with their traditional 24 page booklet etc. but that got cancelled to make way for this set which now includes all the bells and whistles of the first feature set.

See link to their site here, to see what this all includes:

I know Viz media has put out a Region 1 disc of the second chapter but so far no Region 1 of the final chapter.

The R2 UK package you mention really is nicely priced...GBP 14.46 after removal of VAT at Amazon UK...about $28 U.S. if you include shipping and currency conversion fees. As a comparison, the recently-released Hong Kong DVD boxset would set you back about $36 U.S.

has there been any reviews on the PQ? I'm always worried about the transfer of japanese films on pal dvd because of the ghosting. but at the same time i would venture that the UK subs would probably better than the HK versions.

I wondered what happened to the Part 2 release. One day it was up for pre-order and then it was gone. Thanks for the info.

I'm interested in this as well. Netflix has chapter 2 and not chapter 1 so i haven't seen it yet. Is it worth of a blind buy?

I liked Chapter 1 very much and it got me hooked on its plot machinations. I'd say its worth a blind buy. I'm sorta double-dipping here since I purchased the first 4-digital set two years ago (with the booklet) which is greatly reduced at Amazon.uk if you've got an all-region player. I'm hoping the new set with all three chapters has a different 24 page booklet but I'll be happy to have them all grouped under one cover/box.

Re: 20th Century Boys Trilogy: The Complete Saga (4digitalmedia)

I watched part 1 on TV (the alternate television cut) and I just couldn't get into it. Saw the original cut, and wasn't that much different to me, but I guess I was just too bored. Saw parts of part 2 and still just didn't interest me.

I got some of the comic books, so maybe I should try again after reading a bit more...
