First, here is my set up:
Panasonic DVD-C220D
JVC RX-888VBK
KLH 283 (fronts)
KLH AV1001b (rears)
KLH ASW12-120 (sub)
and an Optimus Pro-CS3 (center)
From the DVD player to receiver, I am using
the optical digital connection.

The Problem:
Everything is fine while playing a movie.
If I am playing a movie and hit Menu, or
Stop, the center channel hummms pretty bad.

If I turn the player on and off, it stops.
If I turn the reciever on and off, it stops.

I was checking the settings today, and when
I have the sub turned off on the reciever
menu, the hummm is not present. It comes
back again as soon I turn the setting back
to on. I have also tried hooking a different
speaker up to the center channel, and the
hummm is still present.

I have checked all cables and wires. Never
had the problem until I hooked up the
subwoofer.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Make sure your center channel speaker cable isn't anywhere near the power or signal cables to your sub. It sounds like you're having electronic interference problems.

I had a similar problem. My sub would hum when not in use. It turned out the wires I used to connect the sub were pretty cheap, so I went and bought some well insulated RCAs (specifically for sub use) and that immediately stopped the problem. Good luck!!

Thanks all.
I will have to see how close the sub/power
wires are to the center channel wires.
Its pretty much a rats nest behind the
TV stand, I think its time for some wire
ties and tubing (sp?).
I have a good shielded RCA going to the sub,
but I will check the wire again, mabye there is a small cut or something I have not seen.
