Dinner for Schmucks - Rudd, Carell, Galfianakis - Dir. Roach

<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/eZ4i_woBTF8&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/eZ4i_woBTF8&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

This has the potential to be good, but Roach's directing can be spotty.

This is a remake of The Dinner Game (1998). But since it's a good French movie and not a crappy 1980's teen romp, there is no Internet Outrage.

I can't believe they are remaking The Dinner Game (1998) from France!

This makes me sick! I'm outraged!

Murdering my memories with another pointless remake!

The trailer didn't really make me laugh, disappointing given the leads.

Hell of a cast. Hopefully Ron Livingston has a bigger role than the trailer implies.

The original struck a nice balance, this just looks dumb. The cast made me think it had a chance, but that is one terribly laugh-free trailer.

Cool down. Could be worse. They could be remaking House Party.

Jemaine Clement is in it too. Maybe a party guest?

There are moments and does anyone not remember the Hangover trailer? The premise sounded cool but it was not a funny trailer. All the good moments were saved for the movie which made it fun.

And Steve Carell & Paul Rudd said it's very different from the original and they didn't watch the original while they were filming.

Rudd has been on a role lately and Carell is hilarious and he's in dire need of a good movie.

I love the original, not sure about this. Sasha Baron Cohen was originally supposed to be in this (not sure which part--Correll's?)

Rudd in a comedy? I'm sold. His body of work lately compels me to see this.

Well I, for one, have been outraged for over 30 years about Sorcerer

I'm more outraged that that movie doesn't have any actual sorcery.

I felt the same way. I love, love Steve and Paul -- but what was this trailer about?? Why pick such a weird film? I didn't laugh and didn't understand the plot really...I hope the next trailer is much better because I really want this to be a good one.

Disappointing. At least Steve Carell wasn't doing his usual schtick like in the soon-to-flop Date Night.

New trailer up at Apple (Unembeddable)

I wasn't impressed with the first trailer, but this one actually looks pretty good.

Re: Dinner for Schmucks - Rudd, Carell, Galfianakis - Dir. Roach

I love both Rudd and Carell, but the early responses from test screenings had a very lukewarm response. A lot said that it was too long and not funny. Apparently Roach has been in the editing room nonstop since those initial test screenings, but that ruined some momentum I had for wanting to see this film.
