This has the potential to be good, but Roach's directing can be spotty.

This is a remake of The Dinner Game (1998). But since it's a good French movie and not a crappy 1980's teen romp, there is no Internet Outrage.

I can't believe they are remaking The Dinner Game (1998) from France!
This makes me sick! I'm outraged!
Murdering my memories with another pointless remake!

The original struck a nice balance, this just looks dumb. The cast made me think it had a chance, but that is one terribly laugh-free trailer.

And Steve Carell & Paul Rudd said it's very different from the original and they didn't watch the original while they were filming.
Rudd has been on a role lately and Carell is hilarious and he's in dire need of a good movie.

I love the original, not sure about this. Sasha Baron Cohen was originally supposed to be in this (not sure which part--Correll's?)

I felt the same way. I love, love Steve and Paul -- but what was this trailer about?? Why pick such a weird film? I didn't laugh and didn't understand the plot really...I hope the next trailer is much better because I really want this to be a good one.

New trailer up at Apple (Unembeddable)
I wasn't impressed with the first trailer, but this one actually looks pretty good.

I love both Rudd and Carell, but the early responses from test screenings had a very lukewarm response. A lot said that it was too long and not funny. Apparently Roach has been in the editing room nonstop since those initial test screenings, but that ruined some momentum I had for wanting to see this film.
