Would you buy "Lost" in Best Of Sets?
Since the show is coming to an end, would you buy DVDs or Blu-Rays to Lost that where best of. Since most episodes focus on character and backstory they could release them in
The Best of Sawyer,Jack,Hurley,Desmond,Locke and the others.
Include all the episodes that have centered episodes with there character through Season 1 -6.
Would you buy it if they released Lost is this kind of best of set?

Lost is my favorite TV show, and I think that would probably be the worst idea ever. LOST is a show that needs to be watched chronologically, the whole way through.

Absolutely not.
Any LOST fan would already own the entire series, a "best of" set for a show like this is pointless.

I've yet to see an episode of the show and I think this is a horrible idea.
FWIW, I do have the first few seasons near the top of the unwatched pile.

No, but I would be incredibly interested in the idea of chronological re-cuts of certain character's story arcs. Compared to something like the Star Trek remastering, it would be easy to have someone go through the entire series, tag each scene with the characters featured, and then compile the sequences accordingly. I'd be up for a Desmond or Ben Linus set -- lean yet well-developed, I imagine each would only be a couple of discs. Maybe even Hurley or Juliette.
Then again, that all depends on whatever the hell is going on with this final season. Really, though, it seems like a good cash-in for them that fans could actually enjoy. Maybe in a decade or so.

There's no market for these.
The people who like the show will already own the complete season DVD sets, so there's no reason for them to get these. (Unless they did something chickenshit like putting new special features on the Best of sets.)
People who have never seen the show would be so confused by watching a "Best of Jack" or "Best of Locke" DVD that they would never bother revisiting the full series.

As a general rule, I'd rather not have any "Best of" compilations for any shows; just release full seasons. That being said, I have bought into some of the SNL sets and the recent Larry Sanders release.
Lost, however, is much different, in that each episode is meant to support the larger story behind the show. Watching it either out of order, or character-specific, would cause the episodes to lose much of their impact, IMO.

No.
I would detonate Jughead in any alternate reality these box sets existed in.

Not at all. Though this could work for a show like Smallville. Maybe a DC Heroes collection, with all the guest appearances, and no evil stride gum.

Agree that it doesn't make any sense at all....... that being said, I might be tempted to buy a "Best of Naomi" disc..... this way i could get my Naomi fix without having to jump from disc to disc and scanning for her brief appearances..... damn you for killing her off, john locke! LOL

I had a somewhat similar idea for BSG, take certain story arcs and flesh them out with additional scenes and create "telemovies" out of them to sell separately on DVD (like the 4th season
