Resident Evil: Afterlife aka RE4

Not a fan of the films...though I saw the trailer for this and well...I thought I'd show it to youse guys. Has some interesting shots, some parts get my interest. I saw 2 and hated it. Never saw 3...heard it was better than 3.

Good to see Paul W.S. Anderson back as director. World's first 3D zombie movie?

Wow, another god damn 3D flick. Oh well.

It started to look like "ultraviolet" which sucked, but then it suddenly picked up and got really fun lookin'. I didn't know Ali Larter was in this but that's good because I like her.

I'm in!

Dude, you should watch Resident Evil 3. It's still silly. But there's some perfectly shot, oddly inspiring stuff in there. There's a shot towards the end that I can't get enough of (you'll know it when you see it). I would say that it's about as good as something named "Resident Evil" could get.

I used to hate Paul Anderson. But I've come to enjoy his movies more and more. They're sometimes stupid, usually trashy, and always fun. He has the ability to come up with some gut-wrenching scenarios (ie, the car-crush scene in Deathrace, the laser-room scene in Resident Evil, the appearance of the big-bondage monster in RE2). Doesn't make his movies great. But there's something about that particular ability that makes him unique. It hits harder than something like Saw, Hostel, etc.

The first two were alright, but I loved the last one. Looking forward to Afterlife, although I had no idea it had already been made.

Re: Resident Evil: Afterlife aka RE4

The Resident Evil trailers have always come off better than the films themselves IMO. I too was particularly let down by the second film. RE3 was also not as good as the trailer made it seem, but it was still passable. The text lauding the 3D technology in the trailer made me feel like I was watching a commercial for a new computer graphics card or something.

This one looks more like a sequel to Ultraviolet, with the enemy designs from the RE5 game, and a rip-off at the end of the trailer of the scene from The Matrix Reloaded (where Trinity shoots back at the camera as she falls from an office building).

I enjoyed part 3 the best out of all of them... I'll probably watch this just to see what happens.

Except for the horrible miscast of Wesker (did someone's kid brother just get that role handed to him?), RE3 was good cheesy fun.

Re: Resident Evil: Afterlife aka RE4

Ugh, that looks terrible. Almost like the whole thing was shot on green screen. Plus, the slo-mo action shots makes it look like a fourteen-year-old directed it.

Re: Resident Evil: Afterlife aka RE4

this looks awful imo. And for a trailer talking so much about amazing technology it sure looks like a cheap direct to video sequel.

I loved the third one, but this has "gimmicky 3D shots" written all over it. I'm sure I'll see it eventually though.

I saw Milla saying how awesome she thought the trailer was on Twitter this week. She saw it at some convention or something.

Since it's filmed with the Avatar technology it might be really cool to look at.

Quite a few blatant ripoff shots in that trailer. I suppose most notably the 'Matrix' 'out the window backward firing up in slow motion' shot. Only with TWO girls! The 'agent' had TWO desert eagles!

These movies are just silly fun, and I like them. Nice to see Paul WS Anderson back in the saddle.

What he said.

I like all three films & will go as far as to say the first film is actually a really good genre film, people are way to quick to dismiss it.

Definitely looking forward to this one.

Re: Resident Evil: Afterlife aka RE4

I'm shocked at the number of positive responses about RE3. I thought RE1 was good, liked RE2 because it seemed to be similar to RE2 the video game in some regard (one of my favorite PSX games). I thought RE3 was a pile of cow dung.

Not really feeling this trailer at all... seems to be a cluster#%# of RE5 (majini open mouth people / executioners) characters with Alice. I wish they would've just made the dang videogames story into movies... No reason to tamper with them, they could've been good.

Since there's zombies shown in the trailer, I'm going to make a wild guess and suppose that they're in the movie as well.

I'm not sure how much say they have on this. They sold the Movie Rights to Sony.
