Midnight Express dvd question

i just picked midnight express up at walmart for 6 bucks and it says its the 20th anniversary edition. but it says it was mastered in hd. so it must the be the hd transfer from the 30th anniversary edition right? it only has one featurette prolly from the 20th edition. it also says 2008 on the back and thats when the 30th came out. i hope i at least have the new transfer or else im taking it back. anyone know???

Re: Midnight Express dvd question

I bought it a few weeks back. It's the 1st version that came out 10+ years ago. The only difference is the fullscreen option has been dropped. The A/V quality is just so-so, especially the sound.

Re: Midnight Express dvd question

Pretty sure it said that on the 20th AE but I don't own it anymore... I "upgraded" to the 30th AE and it has three new featurettes.

Sounds like you got the 20th AE to me...

Re: Midnight Express dvd question

I'm pretty sure putting 'Mastered in High Definition' is standard for Sony's grid on DVD packaging.

I just recently picked up this version as well because of the special features on the film and like it much better than the 20th AE DVD-
