I will be in the market soon, and was just wondering what the difference is between these two (besides the obvious) - just wondering in terms of sound. Does one have a more "punchier" sound or deeper sound?

Thanks,

How a sub sounds depends on how well it is engineered, not what kind of design is used.
You just have to listen to subs to tell how it sounds.

You can go to sites like www.audioreview.com to look at other's opinions about other subs. You can also look at magazine reviews like www.soundandvisionmag.com and www.hometheatermag.com for some ideas.

I agree with daledude, but I would look at www.widescreenreview.com ,they have by far the best reviews on subwoofers.
