America, America might eventually get a Warner Archive release. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is Fox, so you're probably out of luck there, though there is a R2 disc.

America, America remains one of the huge holes in my 'best picture' collection. It's amazing with a movie that's nominated for best picture and has a name like Kazan attached to it that this movie could not get a proper release.

Well I have yet to jump on this Warner Archive bandwagon, but If America, America was to be released as such, I would certainly jump on it. However, I would indeed prefer a proper DVD release. Maybe a Warner Kazan box set?

And NOW I recall A Tree Grows in Brooklyn being rumored for a Fox Studio Classics release way back when, but I suppose that the termination of that great line ended any hope of a proper DVD release.

These are some bad times for classic film fans, a far cry from the glory years of 2003-05.
