I did order one last Blu-ray today (Quantum of Solace for $12.99) just to use free shipping one last time. Also got 10% Bing cashback on it too.

Related, I've been Silver for like 2 years now, but never got one of the fancy new cards. So my receipt doesn't show the 'silver' status on the reward zone item line. It does confirm that I'm Silver later on in the receipt. Well, customer service people are often confused by this, and one yesterday tried to tell me that I did not qualify for the 45 day return policy, despite the receipt telling me that I do. He said, 'if it doesn't show it in the reward zone card line item it doesn't count.'
I pretty much laughed at him, as politely as possible, and got my item returned.

Never had Premier, Snowmaker ... but maybe this explains why you still have the status?
Once you qualify for Premier Silver status, your Premier Silver membership will last a minimum of 14 months. After your qualifying purchase has been posted to your account, you will have Premier Silver status for the remainder of the current calendar year (Year 1), the following calendar year (Year 2), and until the end of February the year immediately following (Year 3).
Year of becoming Premier Silver member --- Calendar Year 1 (Jan-Dec)
Time period during which you are a Premier member and may requalify for Premier Silver status --- Calendar Year 2 (Jan-Dec)
Date upon which Premier Silver benefits end, and standard Reward Zone program benefits resume if requalification does not occur --- The end of February in Calendar Year 3

I don't go to Best Buy anymore. The store looks like a bomb hit it and that since November of last year. I can't believe that they are not able to clean up the DVD/Blu-ray shelves and put things in order. It's a 30 minute detour for me and then I have to spend even more time trying to find stuff. Horrible, plus the prices aren't good either. Shopping at Target, BJ's and Amazon now.

I guess it's not too hard to spend $2500 at BEST BUY with their prices. I, also don't shop there anymore - like DirkUSA said, my local store (which may be the same store he referred to) is poorly managed and isn't worth the time/effort to go there.
Just curious, how many people who have the Silver membership have/use the Best Buy credit card? Don't you still get a point per dollar spent wherever you use the card (i.e. gas, other retailers)?

if you have the Best Buy Reward Zone Mastercard, you just have to spend $2500 on that card to maintain status, not necessarily purchases at BB. that's what i have. so i've maintained prem silver status even though i really didn't spend all that much at BB during the previous year, but used that card for a lot of other purchases.

at times, i like to go against the grain...
the rewardzone program when used with the rewardzone credit card could be a good thing if you already use a credit card and shop at bestbuy regularly. $2500 per year (anywhere) currently allows you to continue to bank points. plus, you get 4% back in points for purchases at bestbuy and 1% back in points spent anywhere else.
i realize that 1% back for a credit card is measely compared to years ago. but i think going forward in this economy, 1% in any kind or rewards program will not be considered too bad.
