Paramount released "Mr Bug Goes To Town" in 1941 and of course with the release of Dumbo and Pearl Harbor, no pun intended, completely bombed.
Studio Ghibli has been restoring and exhibiting classic animation from around the world, and their next big release is this one. There still isn't an official release from Paramount on this one, and there is on from Legend Films called "Bugville" but I can't find any reviews on it. (terrible DVD cover!)

I heard the Legend Films release is terrible from some of the patrons of the Golden Age Cartoons forum.

This was re-released to theaters 50 years ago as MR. HOPPITY GOES TO TOWN. Which is when I saw it. I've seen it a couple of times as an adult, once in a theater and once on VHS tape. It's not a good movie, but is of interest to animation buffs.
The question for me is: has there ever been a quality, legit, non-PD release of GULLIVER'S TRAVELS (1939)?

Very nice you got to see it theatrically then. As for Gullivers Travels, seems like no. The Bluray from last year was very hyped up, but ended up being one of the worst discs out there to buy on Bluray... I really hope someone can step in and do justice to all Fleischer stuff out there.

WinStar released a decent 60th Anniversary edition of Gulliver's Travels back in 2001. It included a useless 5.1 "souped up" mix and the original mono track. All in all, it's the best version I've seen on DVD. Before that, Hal Roach Studios released a good one as well tho the picture wasn't fully restored. Both are OOP but the WinStar version is pretty easy to find still.
