Vote for your favorite Best Picture nominee
Since they've expanded the Best Picture category to 10 nominees, I thought it would be fun to see how we would vote.
I'm voting for District 9 myself, but I don't expect it to win.

Of the ones nominated, i've only seen -
Avatar
Blind Side
District 9
The Hurt Locker
Inglorious Basterds
Up
I hated District 9 and thought it was terrible, and don't think Blind Side or Avatar deserve Best Picture. I'd vote Basterds, followed by Hurt Locker.

I've seen them all except for Precious and An Education.
I'm not surprised by Inglorious Basterds leading, but I am surprised by the low count for Avatar so far.

Re: Vote for your favorite Best Picture nominee
I'm going to be conscientious and watch the remaining ones I haven't seen before I vote. Those that I need to watch are The Blind Side, District 9, Precious, A Serious Man, Up and Up in the Air.
If I were to vote now, I'd be torn between Inglorious Basterds and Hurt Locker, but would probably go with Basterds.

Re: Vote for your favorite Best Picture nominee
I've seen:
A Serious Man - Definitely the best
The Hurt Locker - Also excellent
Up - Pretty solid
Up in the Air - Meh
District 9 - Mediocre
Don't really have much interest in seeing the others (especially Inglourious Basterds, which I'll never see).

Voted for Avatar, but I go back and forth between that and Basterds... Didnt really care for District 9 and while Up in the Air and Hurt Locker being very good movies, Avatar and IB were my tops for the year.

I've only seen The Hurt Locker, Inglorious Basterds, and District 9. I'd say it is pretty close between D9 and The Hurt Locker, but I have to give the edge to The Hurt Locker.

Voted for Avatar. Saw Hurt Locker, was not all that impressed. Seemed like watching an episode of 24 with all that shakey-cam stuff.
Hurt Locker will probably win the Oscar - it's the kind of small movie oscar voters drool over...

Inglourious Basterds. I'd be happy if this took it home, though an Avatar win wouldn't be completely upsetting.
I like all the films save for Precious and Blind Side. The Road is my real pick for best film of the year. I for one, don't understand the over the top praise for Hurt Locker, though I did enjoy it.

Re: Vote for your favorite Best Picture nominee
I can't decide between 'Up in the Air', 'The Hurt Locker', or 'District 9'.
So many fantastic films this year...
I'm voting 'The Hurt Locker' but love the others.
'Inglourious Basterds' has that iconic opening sequence, some damned impressive tracking shots, excellent performances(I hope Chris Waltz takes it, weird dude but a performance for the ages), but somehow I put the other three above it.
I would expect the pinheads in Hollywood to vote for the money and thus 'Avatar' will win, yet again making a joke of the Oscars.
Every movie Pixar has made deserves an Oscar, except maybe one or two and those are just excellent.
