T2: Infiltrator
Who else has read T2: Infiltrator by S. M. Stirling?
It is an outstanding novel that James Cameron at one time wanted to be the basis for Terminator 3. It was exceptionally well written, but the studio decided to go in another direction, which lead to Cameron abandoning the project.
The irony is that many elements of T2:I were used in T3, Terminator Salvation and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
Most notably, the book's main villain, Selena, a female Infiltrator: A human with cybernetic implants engineered from birth to serve Skynet. And look what TSCC took directly from the book: A terminator assumes the identity of an important figure at a powerful company to ensure Skynet's creation.
It feels like T2:I got snubbed for a film adaptation so they turned it into a tv series instead.
Your thoughts?

I haven't read it, but I've owned it for years. I just re-discovered it in an old box of books and pulled it out and put it on my shelf. I have two more books to finish before I'll get to it though, one of those being The Stand by Stephen King... so it might be a while.
