the "funniest" BUGS BUNNY short (or Top 5)

01: Bugs and Thugs
"Would I light a match if my good friend Rocky was in there?"

02: Long-Haired Hare
how the Opera singer winds up singing Bugs' silly songs while practicing his aria.

03: Show Biz Bugs
"that was great, Daffy, they want more!" Daffy: "I know, I know, but I can only do it once."

04: Bugs Bunny Rides Again
"Dance, Rabbit" bang-bang-bang.....so Bugs dances!

05: Baby Buggy Bunny
"how many times have I told you not...to play...with the dirty money!"

I like the one where First Officer Murdoch shoots Bugs in the face.

It may not of been the funniest, but Rabbit's Kin resulted in a lot of Pete Puma quoting during college.

This will always be the one for me. Giovanni Jones hitting that last, looong note just never gets old.

I'm also a fan of "Unruly Hare" (the one where Fudd is a railroad inspector).

Yeah, What's Opera Doc? and The Rabbit of Seville are probably the pinnacle of the Bugs-centric shorts.

No way the greatest Bugs Bunny short of all-time is "Falling Hare".

Any short where Bugs sings or cross dresses is in the top. I also like Rabbit Seasoning though it's Daffy's quips to camera that really stand out. "Pronoun trouble..."

Are we sure that the OP isn't really the guy in this thread http://forum.dvdtalk.com/other-talk/...g-wabbits.html

After having his way with a real live rabbit, he's now moved on to watching rabbit porn?

Re: the "funniest" BUGS BUNNY short (or Top 5)

Don't know which one it is:

Bugs is dying, turns to audience and asks, "Is there a doctor in the house?"
Shadow of guy in audience who stands up blocking the screen, "I'm a doctor!"
Bugs instantly recovers, "What's up doc?"

I think that is from "Hair Raising Hare"...which is when Bugs is kidnapped by an evil scientist and spends the entire short trying to escape from the large red monster with tennis shoes. I haven't seen a ton of Bugs Bunny...but this is probably my favorite Bugs short. I love the manicure scene...

The "evil scientist" is a caricature of Peter Lorre, who was a regular at Warner Bros. at the time (MALTESE FALCON, CASABLANCA, BACKGROUND TO DANGER, etc.). Chuck Jones directed "Hair-Raising Hare" and I think it's one of his best. I had the privilege of seeing this cartoon, as well as many of his others, at the Museum of Modern Art back in the '70s, at a program that Jones happily hosted. He even took questions from the audience. But the best thing about it was his obvious joy at the constant laughter his cartoons consistently provoked from the sold-out crowd.

Is that the one with the "Ether" gag? Because that's one of my all time favorite Looney Tunes jokes.

The one with him doing Robin Hood and a cameo by Flynn.

That was awesome. There were a couple/more of that type I think, one with Daffy doing staff work to comic effect?

Re: the "funniest" BUGS BUNNY short (or Top 5)

Since most of the obvious ones have already been mentioned, I'll toss out there Hare-Way to the Stars and the two Tortoise vs. Hare shorts.

And I seem to remember really liking the one where Bugs has to pretend he's a baby monkey.
