What anniversary titles are you hoping for in 2010?
I just started going through my movies to see if there was anything I wanted to trade into Scarecrow and I realized that 2010 would be the 30th anniversary of Airplane!. In the case of that title, I'm hoping for a Blu-Ray debut, but it makes me think: what titles are you hoping get a 2010 Anniversary release?
Using Wikipedia, few other 1980, 1990 and 2000 releases that popped out at me:
The Blues Brothers (1980)
Caddyshack (1980)
Popeye (1980)
Private Benjamin (1980)
Stir Crazy (1980)
The Stunt Man (1980)
Arachnophobia (1990)
Bride of Re-Animator (1990)
Dances With Wolves (1990)

I'm guessing this is going to quickly degenerate into a blu ray wishlist, but I'll play. I've always hoped for a special edition of Dick Tracy. Never much cared for the original release Disney put out.

Here's my anniversary/Blu-ray wish list:
The Apartment (1960)
Psycho (1960)
9 to 5 (1980)
Airplane! (1980)
The Color Purple (1985)
Pee-Wee's Big Adventure (1985)
Cry-Baby (1990)
Edward Scissorhands (1990)*
Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990)
The Brady Bunch Movie (1995)
Clueless (1995)
To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar (1995)
Memento (2000)
*(I know this one's already out on Blu-ray, but from the reviews I've read, it's just begging for a 20th anniversary double-dip)

The only way BTTF can get "more special" was if they included Stoltz footage, but that will never happen. We got ...The Ride footage on the new 2-disc SE from last year so I think they're as packed to the brim as you can get.

The WB gets off their a*s and finally does a great version of Barry Lyndon.
And I'm on the Dick Tracy train too (as long as Buena Vista keeps the DTS).

Also, it would be nice to have a nice long documentary spanning all 3 films. I guess we got that with all the "making of" footage on each disc though.

As for the Zemeckis Q+A's, you did listen to them, yes? The tracks for Back to the Future and Back to the Future Part II rank among my top 20 or 30 audio commentaries, I think they're just great, and I don't see how a commentary would be much more revealing. The one on Part III is still filled with good information, but I admit the fact that it's only about 30 minutes long kinda sucks.

The 2-disc included a shortened version of Looking Back at the Future, an extensive documentary covering all three films, made by fans (just like the acclaimed The Shark is Still Working and Beware the Moon documentaries). No doubt Universal is saving the full doc for the Blu-Ray release.

I didn't realize that the documentary on the new 2 disc was a shortened documentary. I hope to see the whole thing on an eventual BD release.

I would love to see new editions of the following:
The Blues Brothers (Has decent edition out now, in for Blu)
Bride of Re-Animator (Also a decent edition)
Darkman
Dick Tracy (Would love to see on Blu with some good docs, but not likely)
Jacob's Ladder (Fairly decent DVD, some bonuses would be cool)
Kindergarten Cop (The current DVD needs to go)
Almost Famous (Both cuts on one disc would be nice)
American Psycho (Perhaps some bonus features that actually make sense)
High Fidelity (A personal favorite of mine, but an upgrade would be welcomed)
Memento (The Blu would be cool if it carried everything over)
O Brother, Where Art Thou? (Blu for me on this one)

Re: What anniversary titles are you hoping for in 2010?
Actually, they have a problem with one another. Beatty insists that he has first say on any development rights for the property, per his original agreement that led to the 1990 film. Disney is saying that he doesn't, and that they have the right to do what they wish with Dick Tracy--which, a few years ago, meant developing a new television series. Beatty had the rights for several years before finally making the film, and says he's tinkered with the idea of a sequel off and on for the last twenty years. His take on it seems to be, "I've got the rights, I'll get to it when I get to it." Disney's take seems to be, "Why should this property just sit while you wait to get around to it when we could be doing something with it?" It's been in court for some time with no publicly announced progress.
