Help identifying movie

All I remember is the opening scene. I was just a kid. Was made sometime in the seventies. Opening scene opens up on a battlefield. Hundreds of dead soldiers. Redcoats perhaps (but I don't believe it was the American War of Independence). Wish I had more info, but that's it. Thanks for any help.

Thanks, Looked it up, your movie takes place during the Civil War.....I think my movie may have been prior to the 1800's.

The opening shot in Zulu shows a number of dead British soldiers on a battlefield. Plus, Zulu is a movie that has often been shown on television.

Re: Help identifying movie

Hmmm, possible. I saw it in a theater with my dad so that would have been the origin of my memory. I will rent it on dvd to see. Yet in the back of my mind I keep thinking European locales. Thanks though!

when was "just a kid" like give us a year or something. Cuz... that's a broad range to be known as a kid and considering we don't know WHEN you were a kid...it's harder.

Re: Help identifying movie

Yeah it sounds like it could be Zulu. Michael Caine's first feature film. Great movie.

Re: Help identifying movie

Never seen it so have no idea if this could be it, or what the opening scene is but there is a film called Waterloo released in 1970 with Rod Steiger as Napoleon. Fits the european local.
