The Sing-Off -- 12/14 - 12/17
An NBC a capella competition show that combines American Idol, Glee, and America's Got Talent that begins on 12/14 and ends on 12//21.
My wife and I tuned in strictly because we're in Glee withdrawls. Not interested in any of the personal stories and incessant rambling by the judges, so we watched the 2-hour premiere in less than 45 minutes - just for the musical performances.
As a rule I'm not a fan of these type of shows (I've never watched Idol or reality/voting shows), but I have to admit the songs were pretty enjoyable. And yes, I was even surprised by the final "elimination" results.
Bonus points for a cute Mormon chickie with a faux-hawk
Waaaaaaaaaaaay too much padding and stretching out of things, so this best viewed on a DVR with your finger on the fast-forward button...

It wasn't bad, but I wasn't surprised by the results. The two eliminated groups were pretty bad. And I think the final episode is on 12/21, not 12/17

Damn. I just assumed it was four consecutive nights.

We watched this last night and the groups that went home weren't good.
When I saw that Maxx Factor was on there, I freaked. They won all the top prizes last year in the Barbershop/Sweet Adeline competitions. Can they do contemporary stuff? That remains to be seen.
We marked out over Noteworthy! That was fun.
Didn't care too much for the Bubs or Voices of Lee. Nota was great!
We've got in on Season Pass, so we'll check out the rest of it this week and next.

Well, I thought the soccer moms were gone for sure... until Solo came out. The worst of the night probably is Face. They were pretty bad. I'm not sure why they didn't just have the show with all a capella groups from universities. They blow everyone else away since they're probably mostly music majors and such.

I didn't think she was as good of a singer as she seemed to think. In fact, I wondered why she was out front so much for the group. If she is their best singer, it made me wonder. I found her singing very shrill.

Loved it. Great music, a lot of talent and good judges commentary. A very worthwhile show, and most of these people are far more talented than anyone from American Idol.
And I LOVE that the audience isn't voting on this. I don't know if they will eventually, but it's nice to see talent rewarded over popularity.

Well The Beelzebubs were the only group I really cared for. Thought Ben Folds and dude from B2M were good but the Pussycat Dolls chick was terrible. I mean I didnt understand a thing she said. At least she is attractive so she has that going for her, but damn, her babbling was worse than Paula Abdul's ever was.
