"latent homosexuality"
Leonard's mother can bring the funny, but this episode was "off" without focusing on the main core of characters.
Plus, it's two episodes in a row of very limited Raj.

I agree, this episode felt out of place. Plus, there weren't any laughs at all. Worst of the season.

^ I was laughing throughout the episode. Christine Baranski is a perfect addition to the cast. I think she can count on another Guest Actress in a Comedy Emmy in September.
Sheldon rooting for the Grinch and the sun was hilarious and made perfect sense considering who he is.
Considering how Sheldon feels about Christmas and religion in general, I can imagine the arguments he and his mother must have gotten into over the years.

Nobody can play a drunk like Baranski!
She was brilliant on her short lived sitcom with Cybil Shepherd back in the 90's
Don't know why she's not a regular somwhere

Decent episode for me. I think I liked the first time that Baranski showed up as the better episode (the one ending in Sheldon and Leonard's mom singing on the Wii)

Nobody commented on "The Kiss"? Actually, it was a bit anticlimactic -- I thought Sheldon would go over the top in reaction.

I liked that Sheldon and Leonard could have been switched at birth and wound up with each other's moms. Sheldon/Bev are a perfect match, and even though Sheldon's mom is a bit of a nut - she fits better with Leonard. Maybe they can be each other's mother lovers.

Not as good as last season's X-Mas episode, but I still liked it a lot. I hope they use Baranski sparingly and don't overdo a good thing. Her shtick could get old very quickly.
