Yeah I saw that Stephen King list. Harper's Island????? Oh sure, that show is much, much better than Mad Men.

Not a terrible list, as there are at least some really quality shows there. However, including stuff like American Idol is pretty insane. Especially when masterpieces like Deadwood are absent. That show should be in the top 3 or 5.

Seriously, someone's smoking weed there. I thought that show was unwatchable. It wanted to be uncomfortable in an Office sort of way, but it was just mean and ugly. I have no idea why anyone would watch it, let alone consider it among worthy of any Best Of list. And this is from someone who was a big Lisa Kudrow fan before.
Certainly Mad Men, 24, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Big Love, Survivor, Six Feet Under and many other shows would have been more worthy of recognition. That's the sort of inclusion that has far more to do with a critic who has an axe to grind than an objective look at the quality of the product.

4.American Idol
9.Gilmore Girls
10.the Comeback
Seriously? American Idol is a huge success but one of the best shows of the decade? And the other two should be nowhere near that list. There are crazy people everywhere.

To be fair to King, if he has never seen the show he can't pick it as great. His list is limited to every show he gets around to seeing.

I love Gilmore Girls. It'd definitely be on my top ten of the decade. I think too many dismiss it as a chick show, but the writing was top notch funny throughout the entire run. High quaility TV, and I'm glad to see it get some recognition- even it's just on a EW list.
I liked The Comeback too. Don't think it'd make top ten but it was a funny, cerebral show that completely skewered the celebrity reality show tread.
And mad props to SK for listing Rachel Maddow.

I love the Comeback. It was darkly hilarious. I can't imagine anyone listing it in a top 10 of the decade list, though.

I kind of lost interest in their top everything list when they had Harry Potter (at #1) over LOTR.

Yeah, but they include the books in HP being the #1 thing. Also, with the HP movies, people don't tend to lump them together like they do with the LOTR movies. Obviously they're going to take the LOTR trilogy over any one of the HP movies.
