It's nice to see Star Trek get recognition, but In The Loop was terribly disappointing and 500 Days of Summer was downright awful. Also interesting to see District 9 listed as an independent film and 500 Days of Summer not listed as one. FWIW, I think both are studio films.

500 days, debuted at sundance with no distributer, according to wiki anyways. Fox searchlight bought it at sundance. So that technically makes it an Indie. I think District 9 was made and produced by Peter Jackson's company, and Tri Star just distributed it/.

That's just, like, your opinion, man. I really enjoyed (500) Days of Summer.

I've seen all but 3 of the top 11 (I haven't seen The Messenger, Up in the Air, Invicuctus). It's a decent list, although I'm still not sure about A Serious Man it just pissed me off so much, and I would've liked to see a spot on there for The Fantastic Mr. Fox which I preferred to Where the Wild Things Are.

I haven't seen any of the independent ones I don't think, although I know my wife saw and hated Two Lovers.
