When will this be re-released onto Region 1 DVD?

You should use a question on mark on the title of the thread. And to answer your question, Buena Vista may release this down the road when the next Spidey films comes out.

I'd be surprised if it did get a re-release.

Re: Spider-Man The 67 Classic Collection

I need another copy since I just realized the other day that my son, whom I love, cracked disc 6 clean in half. Argh.

Re: Spider-Man The 67 Classic Collection

I actually got lucky and found a used copy of this for a decent price several days ago. It really made me happy since I had kept putting it off while it was in print. I figured that if I didn't buy it then, I'd probably never get another opportunity.

Re: Spider-Man The 67 Classic Collection

There is alot of Marvel animation released in R2. Not sure about Spider-man 1967(animated). I'm going to order all the Spider-man (90s animated) series plus the one season of Spider-woman. Still waiting for Fantastic Four (1967 animated) plus (1978 animated???).

Spider-Man 1967 is getting released in the UK, but as single-disc volumes with like 6 discs, meaning there will be eight or nine volumes.

Marvel comics lets you watch many of the episodes online for free:

I'd love the 90s Spiderman series. Single disc, random episode compilations just aren't cutting it.

Re: Spider-Man The 67 Classic Collection

This thing was pulled in the first place because of a lawsuit between Disney and Marvel. All the other Disney-owned Marvel cartoons (mostly stuff from the Saban era in the 90's) went out-of-print around the same time.

Considering how the Marvel/Disney situation is entirely different now compared to a few years ago I think this stuff will probably see the light of day again sooner or later, I just think it's pretty low-priority considering the other stuff they have on their plate.

Re: Spider-Man The 67 Classic Collection

This went out of print a long time before Disney and Marvel. It's Spider-Man from the 60s. Just watching the later episodes shows enough reason why it's not something that'll be in print forever.

Thanks for the explanation.

I hope they release each of the 3 seasons individually.

I think if the individual season were available, there would be demand for it.

When the only option is a complete series set, a lot of people feel kind of overwhelmed by that.

And yeah - the later episodes were pretty horrible - just take a previous episode, change the dialogue, and presto! - a new episode.

And all that trippy, weird stuff with the colors and the music? One or two episodes like that, I can understand. But they went way overboard with it.

IIRC, Ralph Bakshi was responsible for the later, trippy episodes.

That's what I said: they went OOP when Disney and Marvel were fighting over royalties. It was similar to the Fox/Warner situation with "Batman" except Disney had already released a bunch of Marvel stuff before the litigation.

Disney owns Marvel now so those issues are now non-issues but Disney is bound to be more interested in stuff like "Iron Man 3" than re-releasing something as obscure as this. Still, it'll probably happen eventually.

I'm actually off on my timeline. This set came out when they started suing each other over the series from the 90s. It ran it's course and went out of print.

It's a niche release that is going to get most of it's sales when it came out.

I'm talking about the 67 series and not the 90s. Is that the confusion?

It's all the same. 60s or 90s. Whatever differences between Marvel and Disney that sent the 90s stuff out of print, sent this out of print also. I believe whatever company is releasing Marvel stuff in Canada has released the '67 Spider-Man set there also.
Curious how any of this affects WB ability to ever release the '67 Hanna-Barbera Fantastic Four.
