Has anyone ever eagerly awaited the release of a Christmas movie on DVD?
It's that time of year where Christmas movies of 2008 are now popping up on DVD (Four Christmases, for example). Has anyone ever gotten pissed off that they have to wait a whole year for the dvd of a Christmas flick?
I haven't, because I don't think I own one Christmas movie. And the only ones that I like (Christmas Vacation and A Christmas Story) play on tv all the time anyway so I don't have an urge to buy them. (I'm more likely to watch a movie on TV if I don't have it on DVD.)

Yes, but every year I am again disappointed :
1. A special edition of "Home Alone 2: Lost In New York"
2. "Scrooged: Yule Love It Edition"

Yes, though I've never gotten pissed.
I'm still waiting for some of the Hallmark/Lifetime Christmas movies to be released here. A bunch were released this year, but not all of the ones I would have liked.

Christmas films are perhaps my favorite type, but I've rarely eagerly anticipated a release.
I've always taped them off of cable, and now have hundreds of Christmas films/shows on DVD-R.
And for my big favorites, I bought the first releases in the early days of DVD, before double dipping and special editions, and it seems like most of the double dips aren't worthy of an upgrade.
Maybe I'll get excited about the future blu-ray double dips.

I anxiously awaited "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia: A Very Sunny Christmas" since I heard it announced a while back.

GOG YES! Where is The Night They Saved Christmas (1984)? I have it on VHS but I would love to get a US DVD release!

The Grinch was released at theatres in November 2000, but we had to wait almost a whole year for it to be released on DVD for the next Christmas shopping season. Who would be in the mood to watch The Grinch in Spring 2001? Me!!!

I was pretty anxious to get A Christmas Story on DVD, at least for the 20th Anniversary Edition since that was the first time you could get the film in Widescreen.
Same with the special edition of Christmas Vacation, but I got that as part of the Vacation box set so it was more of a combined excitement for all the films.

Last year, I was looking to buy the 1984 "Christmas Carol" DVD with George C. Scott. The retailers didn't have any in stock and didn't know what the heck I was asking for. This year - they have stacks of them on display with a new release cover.

Another one I thought of was The Christmas Toy, in 2007 I had a bootleg of it and then the following Christmas it was released on DVD, bought it, then never watched it. I plan to watch this year though!
Also, The Flintstone Christmas Carol I looked forward to for a long time.

I couldn't wait for the old Troma release of "Christmas Evil". It was preordered it but the shipment was delayed. I jumped for joy when it finally arrived on Christmas Eve!

I picked up Four Christmases today...dang walmart sticker tore the slipcover...so i left it on. I hate walmart, but don't have much for choices in the area.

I'm still waiting for Scrooged: Yule Love It Edition.
I used to think that buying the classics (Miracle on 34th, Wonderful Life) were a waste seeing as they're always on tv during the holidays.
Then last year I was hoping to watch a good Christmas movie on TV on Christmas Eve, and nothing. Christmas day, still nothing. I was shocked and angry.

Nope, I have a couple of Christmas movies, but it's not my favorite genre and I can't remember ever eagerly awaiting one.

Home alone 2 looks great on bluray, but it would have been nice to see some extras on the disc, another Macauly Caulkin and Chris Columbus commentary would have been great since the one on Home alone was so good. I am sure Disney's A Christmas Carol will look great on bluray when they release it sometime next year.
